Gated community hillbillies? Their stills are from William Sonoma and overalls are Ralph Lauren and tailored? 😂

I wouldn’t discount Langley this year. Sure they don’t have as many D1 commits this year vs prior years, but they still have a deep program with GF youth and McLean youth feeders. The top girls go to privates but these girls have been playing with the top girls since 1st grade and have seen faster games. Same for Madison.

I get Madison was good last year, but obviously not good enough as they got slaughtered by Langley in regionals. As for the previous post not discounting Langley this year, ha. Good luck to a dying program. Head coach completely killed it last year and now moving forward. Ask anyone of her previous programs and all will say the same thing, she just drives good kids away from the program, she also likes to try and stick her nose into personal lives of the players. Not a good thing.
My bet is Langley will be 500 win percentage this year, pending on who they play.

It sounds like the Battlefield posters in this forum have put their team in the position of the hunted, not hunter this year. It will be interesting to see how they do from this seat. Tough position the posters have put them in. Let’s hope the team doesn’t lose these games. As for the nonsense about not having to play the best private schools, ask any of the top teams and players from previous years. They want to test themselves against the best. Not scout a team they may play come playoff time. It’s a bit troubling someone would actually note this as a reason for avoiding games with the top privates. If the top privates offer you an opportunity to play them, which is earned based on the public school’s performance and reputation, you jump at the chance. You don’t tell them you’d rather play a public you may play later in the year. Just absurd.

Progressions. Build your rep against the Fairfax teams and we eill get our chance against the privates.

I think way too many people are overlooking a team that are going to surprise and upset some established (and lazy) teams is Westfield. Good coaches and young very talented players. Spoilers in 2023 but with what’s coming up through rec , with coaching, what’s coming in in 2024, a true threat in their division. Do not overlook them this year (which is what battlefield did with Cville last year), they might bite you.

What is going on out at PVI this year? Whispers are girls are quitting or just not bothering. No idea if this is disgruntled parents or truth?

Centreville? It’s hype. They beat battlefield (overrated to start with) and who else last year? Some top players quit in their junior and senior years.

Westfield may make some noise in the district but they are behind the talent of Oakton and Centreville. PVI is fine, and Centreville has almost all of their starters coming back from last year, so more rumor nonsense. They already have a good amount of D1 commits.

I believe the starting PVI goalie left. Are there others who left, quit, or are not bothering this year? I’ve heard the team environment can be toxic. Not sure if this is because of the coaches, players, parents, or a combination of the above.

PVI goalie(Senior), is at Independence. Who also has the Freshman (now Sophomore) attacker, (only one) who was all state, if I'm not mistaken. Not sure who else they may have over there as Class5 doesn't get much attention, outside of Riverside or Dominion.

Speaking from experience, PVI glax is completely toxic and clicky. Hence, look at the dad coaches and their background stemming from Pride and their is your main reason why

Too many dads involved on the coaching staff at PVI.

These would be the same PVI dads that coached the 2023 Dulles South teams from scoopers until HS that went undefeated for 8 years. The same dads that taught their offense to the 2023 Pride team that was typically ranked anywhere from 5-15 in the country. The guys who have a highly technical understanding of the women's game and know how to teach both the intricacies of individual play and team concepts. Their record speaks for itself and is unmatched by any commentators on this board.

I’ll be sure to get back to you next week after overrated Battlefield travels to Westfields on Thursday.

US Club Lax ranked Pride 23s #17 in 2021 and #24 in 2022.
