+1. My China is both dishwasher and microwave safe. I don’t have anywhere to store a complete set of China that is never use. |
I have no idea why you would mock US; a quick vacation vs. high quality infrastructure for your home. You are being ridiculously myopic. |
I’ve been married for 10 years and my “fine China” is still sitting in my parents’ basement. It has never been used. I don’t have the SPACE for a China hutch. Maybe if I had been allowed to ask for a down payment contribution instead of China I would have a bigger home, which I would prefer to the China that I have nowhere to store. |
For how expensive that 2nd one is it’s really ugly! |
We have a HHI of 700k+\yr and use Corelle daily. Doesn’t break and can be thrown in the microwave and basically thrown around. I also don’t sleep under sheet that aren’t fine Egyptian cotton |
I’m on a fine China kick, and really enjoyed seeing your China patterns. They are all beautiful. |
I'm under 70 so I do not own any fine china |
I am under 70 and I own fine china. |
+1 and I love setting a table with beautiful china! |
Never. Not a fan of lead. |
I have this one:
https://www.macys.com/shop/product/wedgwood-sterling-collection?ID=20001 I never use it but I like staring at it in the China cabinet. |
We use it every Sunday.
We use Lennox Autumn (more in the fall and winter); we use Mom's mid century modern teal Kingsley china, we also use grandma's gold band china. I tend to use the gold band china during the Christmas season. |
I have a beautiful set of Lenox but never use it since my DD with autism is rough on everything she touches. We use plastic glassware and unbreakable dishes to save our sanity. I'm thinking about starting to use it and just let her do her thing now that I care a lot less about material things now. |

I also have a set of Fitz and Floyd Deauville Burgundy This is gray with a burgundy band and looks very contemporary. A friend picked the set up for almost nothing at a garage sale. I use this when friends come for dinner. I also will use this around the holidays due to the burgundy trim. Due to the simple lines and light color it looks very contemporary. |
When did you get married? What did you do? |
