| I am ready now. |
+1. I never wear a mask unless it's required and so thrilled that my high schooler no longer has to wear one in school. But I completely respect anyone who still chooses to wear one. Freedom of choice. |
Huh? It's the other way around - calling people who are not sick, but not wearing a mask when they go out "bad people" "selfish people." Or as you put it, "anti-maskers." If I'm sick and I must go out, sure I'll wear a mask. But if I'm feeling well and healthy.... you think me not wearing a mask makes me an "anti-masker?" Good god, this binary thinking really needs to stop. |
| “Fully vaccinated” — only if you had a booster within the last four months. Check the percent of people who fall in that category, it’s much lower than you would think. A lot of people don’t understand that nuance at all. |
| I'm done now. |
You don't need to understand this personal decision that people are making since we all have bodily autonomy. |
| It doesn’t bother me for anyone to wear a mask. I’m not sure how long I’ll keep wearing one - I imagine in crowded places it would make me feel more comfortable. I do think masks have kept us from spreading a variety of colds and other winter germs. |
| I'll wear one until I decide not to. And now that I know it drives you and others crazy that may be longer than it I might have done before reading this post. |
You are directing your rant at the wrong person. I agree with you. I responded to the question why so many people are still dying every day. My point was that the number would be lower if more people were vaccinated and less unhealthy. |
People will also pay for it when they are elderly. If you wear a mask from here on out to protect yourself from every respiratory virus, you will be less immune when you are old and more vulnerable. A simple cold can kill a vulnerable elderly person. |
Now that’s a way to stick it to them! |
Yes, that’s why deaths around here are pretty low. |
+1000 A sterile, non-exposed life is much more dangerous in the long term. Unless you are extremely vulnerable and have been instructed by your doctors to really protect yourself. Exposure to "germs" is beneficial. Hugely so. |
The immune system is like a muscle. It's GOOD to expose it to germs on a regular basis. Masks, gloves, hand sanitizer... that's going to set humans up for disaster. Your body learns to fight things off and gets stronger with small exposures here and there. So yeah, I'm an "anti-masker." If it's required someplace, of course I'll comply. Or if I'm sick and really need to go out. Or maybe incredibly packed indoor situations. The rest of the time, no sorry, it's not doing my body or health any good. |
Isn't it possible we will never be below 10 / 100,000? |
