Yes why buy them if he doesn't need them and for loungewear sweats will do just fine. |
I don't know. I think it depends more on what the parents wear - especially the one of the same gender and perhaps on what their peers do. |
Yes and why would siblings need to go in to each others bedrooms at night? |
| Mine just turned 8 and for more than a year now he has just worn boxer briefs to bed (the same undies he'll wear to school the next day). But when he did wear PJs, it was Kirkland 100% cotton sets from Costco. Highest quality I've found anywhere. |
Yes my DS (10) also just sleeps in his underwear but he has a few pairs of PJ's for loungewear. |
Yes that seems perfectly fine to me. |

Boys Summer: t-shirt, shorts, and underwear
Boys Winter: merino wool pjs and underwear (Our house is old - and noticeably cooler in winter than in summer.) |

I run cold, and would wear a dang parka to bed if possible. But our two kids I long since learned not to copy/paste my preferences onto them - and they both are apparently like furnaces in the night. So oldest DS tends to wear just underwear, and YDS wears just a pull-up.
Despite us living in house that has the insulation properties of a medieval castle. |
| My 5 year old started wearing just his boxers earlier this year. Unprompted, completely by his own choice... he has access to various high quality PJs (costco makes some good ones) and wears them before bed, but decides to take it all off when going to sleep. |
That was about the same time when my sons stopped wearing pajamas as well. DS (13) sleeps in the nude now and DS (10) just wears boxers. |
| Usually underwear. Sometimes fleece pj pants and a tshirt. Boys are 4,6,&8 |
I think that also depends on how old they are. They older they get the less they wear in general I think. |
Agree, same with my sons. |
| For kids still not dry at night has anyone ever tried using cloth diapers instead of the disposable ones? |
That sounds so sloppy and uncomfortable to me. |
