This is what my son has worn since about age 7 and still wears at 14. Sometimes in the summer just underwear and a t-shirt.

Gross!

Soft athletic shorts and t shirts. Sometimes a hoodie if they are cold. Usually different ones than they wear out of the house, there’s a few soft favorites that become sleep clothes.

Age 7 - he sleeps in boxer-briefs (Cat & Jack) and a pajama top. (I get his PJs at Costco but he prefers to only wear the top half.)

My 12 year old would wear nothing at all if he could.

Why can't he?

He technically could if he really wanted to but he doesn't like waking up soaked so he wears a pull up.

Why would he be soaked wearing less to bed?

My 9 yo has only worn underwear for several years now. He runs hot.

Does you husband wear matching pjs to bed? Of course they outgrow pajamas.

My DH wear pajamas pants and a soft t shirt to bed. My 10 yr old still wears matching pjs. He also has flannel pants as an option but generally prefers lil Sleepies or Target pjs.

We generally get PJs from Target. A couple ago 8 yo started doing just underwear. Sometimes he’ll add flannel pants when it’s cold though. 5 yo still asks for character sets, but he sheds them during the night if he gets too warm.

this is very unusual

Very!! I know a mom who posts pictures of her 11 year old in a onesie on FB and I cringe when I see it.

Oh my get a grip weirdo. My 10 year old loves his fleece onesie pajamas from Old Navy. Has a ton of friends. Best athlete for his grade. In fact after wearing it during a sleepover a few kids asked for them. You care way too much about how cool your kid is. Let kids be kids or comfortable with what they want to wear.

Yes DS (13) stopped wearing them when he was 8 or 9.

DS(9) wears what he wears for next day to sleep. They are shorts and t shirt in summer, & long pants and long shirts in winter. He has long pajama pants, and he sometimes wears them in winter. He hates those tight fitting pajama styles which makes him feel uncomfortable. He is not skinny.
