| Note, I do not mean “noveau riche” with a McMansion. |
| Oh my god. There's a thread about this every other day. Can't you find the one from Wednesday? |
Why? Perhaps you should focus on achieving real wealth and not worry about looking wealthy.
|
| What is the obsession on this forum of insecure middle class people who want to look and feel rich? |
| I don’t think so tbh. You could hire a stylist to help with clothing though. The internal bit of being deeply, generationally wealthy - entirely financially secure - way down into you genes is not something you can acquire. |
Actually, I'm surprised this person wants to look wealthy. Usually these posts are about looking "UMC" which makes me laugh because it's so specific. |
| I absolutely know how to pull off frumpy New England Old Money. Any Episcopalian thrift store in a wealthy community will be able to get you started. I guess the bigger questions are too what end? And, will you feel good about yourself? |
| Yes, you can be stylish and well put together with being wealthy. Take good care of yourself and have your clothes tailored. |
*without being wealthy |

No idea. My Asian husband is rather wealthy and dresses like homeless person. My family is European and of the tweed-wearing type. If you want to fit into a specific community for professional or social reasons, you have to observe how they live and do the same. |

Drive a top of the line Volvo or Mercedes from 10-20 years ago.
Wear high end basics like a gray cashmere sweater with slacks or jeans. Good leather loafers/ballet flats. Wear the same expensive yet understated jewelry everyday. Invest in a high quality European coat. Wear it for decades. High quality accessories. Minimal makeup. |
Hahaha. So true. Go to the Cape for a week and hit up the Church thrift stores. Filled with everything you need. Natural fibers galore! |
This except the car. A few years old is good not 20. And a straight bobbed haircut. |
You’re a moron.
|
| No, wearing a sweater and jeans just looks different when you are standing in the garden of your family compound. |
