"I had a patient I was doing a blood draw on see my pronoun pin and loudly laugh to the staff 'She/Her? Well of course it is! What other pronouns even are there? It?'" K. Del, or Kychelle Del Rosario, a fourth-year medical student at Wake Forest School of Medicine, tweeted.

| They must cover the hippocratic oath later in med school |
| What an idiot. |
| She better be reprimanded. What an awful person. |
| Don't think she was saying she did it deliberately, just that it happened and he was an asshole so her attitude was ah well |
That's what I think. i also think she deserves to be reprimanded, because that still isn't OK, but I think if she is found to be deliberately hurting people, that goes well beyond reprimand. |
| Has the patient tried being less of a willfully ignorant asshat? |
In this context the medical student is wrong if she did miss vein on purpose. |
She didn't say that. So if she gets "in trouble" for anything, it will be for posting a patient interaction with zero identifying details (so no HIPAA violation) on Twitter. Those of you salivating for her to be strung up are going to be sorely disappointed. |
| She really needs to develop much thicker skin. She had an opportunity to educate, but instead used it to shame a patient. Pathetic |
| Looks like she took down her account...... |
| Typical misandrist. |
| She needs to be fired and blacklisted. This is psychopathic behavior. |
|
She is in for a difficult career if she lets this kind of thing bother her. Just spend a few evening hours in your local ER. It is a rare shift if your life isn’t threatened.
I think at the very least this is unprofessional behavior. Not to mention beyond stupid. |
| They're both jerks but the healthcare professional should at the very minimum get reprimanded for this tweet. Sheesh how awful. |
