Maybe people felt he should have stuck to calling out all ethnic and racial hatred and not qualifying it.

+1. black people have suffered racism forever. Why call out antisemitism? Read the room. There are tons of black people in that room.

So if Schumer were a black man he shouldn’t call out racism because there are Jews in the room?

You'll be living in that country too pp.
The reason many are staying home is because they have grown tired of the shaming and fear mongering techniques.
For 20 years now the democratic party has claimed the Republicans were going to strip all our rights and plunge us into a dictatorship.

Tons of Jews (and people of other backgrounds) as well. Antisemitism has been around forever as well.

Indeed but they are a tiny portion of the population.

For Blacks, Jews, and every other marginalized group, voting Republican is insane.

So because they are a true minority we shouldn’t call out bias against them?

Tell me you’re antisemetic without telling me you’re antisemetic

Had a black man only mentioned racism against blacks the refrain would be why didn't he mention Asians, Hispanics or Jews etc?

As an elected official his job is to represent all

If you think that black people are the only ones who have suffered from bigotry, then you need to pick up a book. In the current climate, antisemitism is a more immediate issue.

I don't understand it as for the last 8 years that party has been openly racist.

OK - so you now admit that if Trump wins we will not be voting again - or it will not be necessary as he actually said in a stump speech. I’ll be elsewhere as a dual citizen …

The need to stop talking so long. Every single one of these speakers should have been forced to cut their speeches in half.

In all the speeches thus far, I’ve heard plenty of discussion on racism. Pritzker just now talking about so called “DEI hires.” Schumer was the first to mention antisemitism. Shouldn’t everyone else also be mentioning it given that hate crimes against Jews is at an all time high?

He seems to luck energy and the audience didn’t seem energized.
Bernie is not energizing enough either.
Probably Obama will wake them up.

The legislators are usually not the greatest speakers.

He's calling out hate for one small group when there are larger groups who have faced bigotry. He should have called out bigotry that encompasses all groups.
