| I am 5 ft 7in, 134 lb, what is an effective way to lose 9 or 10 pounds? I really look best at 125... |
| The same way a 5’1” 160 woman would. Fewer calories. |
| An eating disorder. Seriously. You are a good weight now, don’t torture yourself. Those 10 lbs will be extremely hard to lose and if over 35, you will look gaunt, not better |
How much muscle did you have on you the last time you were 125? If you’re feeling the need to slim out a bit, the best way is to add free weight/bodyweight exercises to your routine. It won’t shift the scale, but you should lose inches. Make sure you maintain appropriate levels of protein and pay attention to the vitamin/mineral content of what you eat. |
This 1000%. Do a favor for everyone around you. Work on appreciating yourself at this weight. It’s great. You’ll be miserable chasing this number, and in the process you will alienate the people who care about you. You’ll be cranky, hungry and obsessed. Those are not attractive qualities in a friend, co-worker, partner, or family member. |
+2 You are a totally fine weight now. I highly doubt anyone else thinks you look “bad” at this weight. And you should care more about how you feel at this weight, not what you look like. |
| That’s my current height and weight. I’m 60. When I was under 40 I was 125-8, but when you age you need more weight. I look sick if I’m under 130. |
| Seriously. 95% of the posters on these threads need therapy. Yeesh. |
| I’m OP’s goal weight. I have a small frame so at 135 I do look unfit and pudgy. Don’t assume she wants to be underweight. Everyone is built differently. |
| I’m 5’8” and about 135. When I dropped to 125 after having my kids because of breastfeeding, I looked downright gaunt. People were asking me if I was ok. Maybe try 3-4lbs first and build some more muscle in there. |
yes you get it! As 135 I have flabby upper arms and a tummy and need size 8 pants |
You don't need to lose weight, you need to do weight training to build muscle. Losing weight won't fix flabby upper arms |
| I’m 5’’ 7 1/2” and 134 pounds. I’m very fit (Peloton, running, and weights). 130 is my favorite weight, but 134 is also great! My weight fluctuates between 130-135 based on my period and my IBS. It can fluctuate by 5 pounds in one day, which my doctor has repeatedly told me is okay. I had an ED that I’ve worked super hard to overcome. I don’t wish that on anyone! Please be kind to yourself. 134 is healthy! |
Same height 115 lbs. I also have a small frame (can wrap thumb and index finger around wrist and still have space leftover. But I’m muscular and not bony at all. I exercise 1-2 hours a day and eat a lot of fruits and vegetables but don’t count calories or restrict any food groups. I tend to eat smaller portions. |
If you are 5’ 7” and 135, there is no way you look pudgy. No way! |
