They had a tweet - not enough staff.

They assume you’ll put up with that forever, so good luck!

I thought school wasn’t child care?

APS finds a way to screw parents even harder. After the first "on time" message earlier today my wife and I updated our work coverage appropriately. And now it's too late to go back.

I mean, this is borderline incompetence. Did APS really not think this through?

Did you think sh&t wouldn't happen during a week bracketed by two snowstorms, a Covid wave of positives in the region, and a teacher shortage? GFY.

It is shocking. And also fccps, their neighbor, was open today and will be open tomorrow. Dcps, their neighbor, is open tomorrow.

This is why they need to go virtual for another week or so - at least for middle and high school. The staffing swings are going to be happening for the next few weeks. County guidance is back to ten days out at a time. At least this way the older kids who can manage themselves can get some schoolwork in.

It isn’t but if teachers put in for a sub because their kids are gone then there is no one to teach your kids….

I actually think it was surprising that other districts chose to close. So I can forgive them for this.

Here's an idead- why don't all the unemployed, rich, stay-at-homes in the east end (that constantly cheerlead ACPS) step up and teach?

Hmm. So it’s almost like they rely on schools being open to have someplace to send their kids so it doesn’t impact their ability to work?

Nope- it’s obviously none of those things that make sense- it’s APS and it’s hatred of parents.
