Sekas Reviews

We are considering buying a home/lot to be built by Sekas. Somewhat mixed reviews online and not a ton out there so hoping to get some first or even second hand recent experiences.

I own a seka's home in vienna. awesome guys, esp Collin.

The house is well built, we have had no issues with it at all. We were between evergreen and sekas and once we saw the sekas quality, it was a no brainer.

There was a period where he seemed to be turning Vienna into Sekasville.

At one point, houses in one of the developments (Thistle Ridge) were getting sold for a discount to their original sale prices, while similar properties in the $1.5-2.0M price range in Vienna and McLean were appreciating. Not sure if it was the style of the houses, the location, or something else. And that may no longer be the case with the recent run-up in prices over the past year or two.

OK builder....homes are good but not great. They have built much in Oakton and Vienna.

Fairfax now, too. The elder Sekas used to live in a part of Vienna zoned to Marshall HS off Beulah Road. He sent his own kids to Madison while selling other houses zoned to Marshall.

Sekas has built three or fours homes in my Vienna neighborhood. I can't speak to quality but his houses are built on a timeline. There is activity on almost a daily basis. Some of the other lesser name builders seem to really take their time. Maybe because they don't have a buyer. His homes seem to go from a tear down to occupied in the shortest amount of time.

This is true. They build very quickly and compared to some builders inconvenience neighbors less.

How did he manage to do that?

He wanted his kids to play sports at Madison (better athletic teams) so they pupil placed for AP.

+1 this is what we were told by our agent. However they’re doing a lot of developments these days rather than single houses and I can’t stand a treeless plain.

I have a friend in Arlington who has a Sekas home. They’ve been happy, but haven’t been in long.

many in our community have complained about them in the neighborhood. don't expect friendly neighbors as they disregard neighbors in the built process. e.g on top of construction noise, expect very loud music to be played by them...like you are in a block party.

I know about 10 families who did that over the years. But its harder to switch now, schools are overcrowded and closed to transfer.

Seas seems to have a pretty good reputation in Vienna. Only criticism I have is (as a neighbor) how they often raze the land of all trees and build homes too close together.
