Sekas Reviews

Anonymous
Sekas is a bit unusual in that a lot of the homebuilders in that market segment have gravitated towards building more expensive, nicer houses over time. Sekas seems to be looking more towards opportunities to build cheaper (materials, if not price) and smaller houses further west, along with townhouses.

By the time we left Vienna we were calling it "Sekasville." It wasn't really intended as a complement.

many in our community have complained about them in the neighborhood. don't expect friendly neighbors as they disregard neighbors in the built process. e.g on top of construction noise, expect very loud music to be played by them...like you are in a block party.

Neighbors called to complain about loud mu. No one returned calls.

Did anyone think of walking over and politely asking them to turn it down? That’s what we did. They turned the music down.

They didn’t in our neighborhood. Was scolded at another time for something else. Nothing from Sekas - no apologies, no call back. Who wants to be yelled at in their own neighborhood by group of ppl

This happens with MANY builders, and many builders take up to two years to build a house - which is too long.

jeez people are dramatic on this board.

SEKAs build great houses. No complaints in house we are in.

We bought an 18 y.o. Sekas home 7 yrs ears ago in Oakton. Beautiful lot, very nice spacious house, well built- no issues. We did a lot of updating when we moved in, refinished hardwoods, replaced the kitchen and a couple of dated baths. All in very happy with the house- it is a classic looking house and very comfortable to live in. It feels on the higher end of homes but definately not custom build like a Cloud IX or one of those builders, which would likely be out of our price point (and that's o.k. with us).

I have a high standard and expensive taste towards interiors and they are easy to work with and allow me to add extra personal tastes to the design.

But most of all, they finish my house on time. I mean, they can finish the contstruction without any delay and within the interest rate lock range.

Sounds like mktlng

PP - I swear I am a real purchaser. I was looking between Sekas and Evergreen back in 2021 but around that time, it doesnt seem Sekas has any site development in Mclean. Then I looke at wolf trap and great falls and finally settled in vienna. There were some issues but after communication, they agreed to eat up cost and solved my prolbem. Not 100% satisfied but most importatly, I was able to close with 2.75% rate.

Hard to believe someone who can’t write English can afford a new home in Vienna. Troll.

Add leaving trash around and rude staff. Building houses fast and fostering tension with neighbors.

Called them to complain about loud music and they didn’t bother to call or acknowledge.

Our nieghbors complained as well. They could hear the music six houses away! Nothing like loud unwanted block party on a Tuesday morning.

We heard the loud music. I can’t imagine the ppl next door

Sekas has done a few very nice small communities in Oakton....a few of those homes now selling in the $2.5m range. The communities and homes appear to have aged well over a 20 year period. The home plans are the updated craftsman type ..but the lots are much nicer vs. TOV - close to 1 acre (or more).

Gonna paint with a broad brush here, but almost all spec builders don't care about neighbors, trees, noise, code violations, flooding, all of that whatnot. It's all about maximizing profit and ignoring the hassle of the laws and people you are inconveniencing. Seka is no different. They had a garbage house over by a local elementary school here in Mclean. Just total crap. But hey, people are buying their crap.

For those of you guys who grew up in the 70s/80s, "SEKA" was an extremely well known porn star. Look her up, she's from Virginia. I mentioned this to one of my doctor friends who lives nearby and he admitted that he busted out laughing every time he went past a Seka house. Me too. Even the wife is like "ok ok enough" because there are so many of them around here.
