Why are you deleting posts that omicron is mild?

Anonymous
And even threads and blocking people saying that? Are you a fear propagandists?
News are reporting it in Canada, SA, India but here people can’t say it? You are being ridiculous with catering to those that post only the worst news. I guess even on dcum only tragedy sells.

Of course I am right. For months now you cater to those that promote COVID phobia. The only logical conclusion is that you are in agreement with them and one if them.
In the last week you deleted many posts and threads about omicron being mild.
Either you profit from promoting fear or you have clouded anxiety ridden perception of everything COVID related.

Glad you agree. It would be funny if it weren't so sad.

I think you’re being unfair, OP, in addition to not making much sense. I started a thread yesterday in this same forum after a post in which I explained my motivations for not vaccinating was deleted in another thread. To his credit, Jeff has permitted that thread (including much lengthier discussion of the same issues) to remain open despite numerous hysterical calls for its removal. I don’t think you understand how rabid some posters here are in demanding that COVID-related posts be deleted or censored. The pressure on the mods is enormous I am sure, and sometimes some posts are removed, likely to satisfy that element. But reasonable and respectful discussion can still be had, even by those who oppose the vaccine.

DP.. but, why are you deleting such posts if that is what doctors are reporting? Do the posts say other things that is "fake news" or something? I don't know which posts OP is referring to, but from what I've read, on reputable sources, omicron is fairly mild compared to OG covid and delta. So, why are you deleting those posts?

Maybe the use of word "IS" vs "maybe". I don't think any of the official government scientists have come out and said it "IS" milder. Fauci hasn't said it IS milder as far as I know. All other talking heads? Who cares what they said.

Or maybe use the phrase "milder THAN"

Can you link some of those reputable sources? Because that doesn't match the sources I've seen, but that could be either that I consider different sources reputable, or that I'm reading the same articles differently.

What I've seen is things like this that say it is too early to know, but that evidence seems to be pointing to the fact that it doesn't make people more sick than OG or Delta.

I do believe you have it correct. That's what I heard as of last night from Fauci/CDC director. I think OP is upset Jeff maybe deleting posts that are fake news based.

CTV news cbc news most Canadian broadcast news are reporting it. They had a dr from SA working on omincron stating mild flu like symptoms and headaches and no cough or runny nose.

It's funny how you're concerned about the long term effects of the vaccine, but not about the long term effects of a COVID infection.

DP..

I've read that omicron is less potent, milder symptoms, and I'm fully vaxxed. There is an intersect of people who are fully vaxxed and not too concerned with omicron.

+1 CDC's "it's too early to know" is not wrong, since we don't have enough data in the US to determine, but based on early reportings where omicron was first reported, symptoms appear to be mild.

Now, it could mutate again here and the symptoms could be more severe, so yes, it's a bit too early to tell. But, the omicron variant as it is now seems to be mild.

Sure you can have ONE doctor reporting from South Africa, but that is not a study on its virulence.

Also, many people catching it are vaccinated, hence would be milder
