Look, we have enough info to know beyond a reasonable doubt that EHH is guilty of horrendous crimes and is also a bad parent. We don’t know anything about anyone else. That is ALL I was saying. I just objected to the poster who stated as though it was fact that the dad and stepmom are wonderful. Just because EHH is bad doesn’t automatically mean that the other parents are good. That’s not how life works.

Given how seriously ill Eleanor is, I am glad that the kids have another stable adult in their lives, given that their mom has landed herself in PRISON and all.

Read the DM article, it has some of the divorce docs. She was actively soliciting sex with men and women while married and even brought a man back to the marital home when the young kids were home, prior to the split. JOEL is not the problem here. GTFO with that BS. Eleanor is the problem and has been for a long time. There may be partial explanations: mania, possible csa, possible MI, etc but she also had naked sex in a public park in broad daylight in 2019, those docs are linked in the DM story too. Then she seems to have a very detailed and PRACTICED approach to horrific sexual abuse of young kids. Hopefully he picked better in his second marriage. The kids will have both genetic susceptibility to mental illness and possible abuse trauma. The more stability and the more normal adults, the better.

I mean why are you assuming so much here? Why do you assume the dad is blameless and innocent and that he’s a good parent? Why do you assume that his second wife is stable and a good stepparent? I dont get that. Maybe the dad, Joel, is great. Maybe he had no idea what was going on w EHH. But the truth is you don’t know that for a fact and neither do I. If anything, it seems this case should cause us to be less trusting of others and more aware of all the evils of the world. I hope for the kids’ sake that their dad and stepmom are good people, good parents. But I think it’s very bizarre to just blindly assume that they are until we know more about this case. (Which we might never have access to that info)

Joel is what those kids have. Mom is in a cage, her family still is enabling her, despite the nature of the offenses. The PR spin here is dumb, they were still offering daddio as a 3rd party custodian in April 2023. .

Why are you so keen to focus outside the court docs?

Why should you have access to info re: a private citizen? Minor kids? It would have been much better for the young kids if the divorce docs had been filed under seal, ditto with the recent custody filing and if the FB had been taken down much sooner.

It's ok to judge people who have heinous and strong cases against them for preying on kids and exchanging images. In fact, it's important for safeguarding. Does that mean, trust everyone blindly? Of course not. But of these 2 choices one is much more likely to have better character.

Kids do better in a 2 adult household and Joel can probably use support given not only the horror of this but how public it is. That's all. More resources, etc. Their mom is in federal custody and the whole world knows about it. Any hands on deck that are not trying to free Eleanor, like the Huntons, are a possible +. Hopefully his extended family is more sane. Those kids could use a village.

I don't even see why they are a focus here at all tbh. Given the duress they are under particularly? Catty comments about his remarriage or how he may not be a good parent or person either? Having another adult in the household does likely increase the stability of the family unit, especially in these extraordinary and very public circumstances. Hopefully he has family support as well for him and the kids.

I hope the kids do have a good relationship with the stepmom because their mother may have harmed them and/or other kids they knew and she is going to be in a federal prison until they are adults, so not a role in raising them. Hopefully both their father and stepmother are good enough parents who can help them through this horror. Their mother and enabling maternal grandparents are a horror show, putting it nicely. How any of this is controversial is baffling.

If anyone does know Joel, perhaps suggest any custody related filings be placed under seal and the FB photos of the kids be taken down or made private. None of that should ever have been in newspapers or online for people to gossip about.

There appears to be one person speculating about the fitness of the the former husband. I agree. He is not on trial here. There's no evidence to suggest he or his new wife are unfit. But this is DCUM, and everyone is just two steps away from the mental ward.
