| I have been doing Uncle Sam cereal for years--I think it's the highest protein cereal on the market and I picked it up from doing the South Beach diet (which I no longer do). Just felt like I couldn't do better. Now I'm reading about the benefits of eating 30Gs of protein for breakfast, and I'd like to try it. If you're doing this, is it a mix of eggs, nut butters, and Greek yogurt? |

Two eggs plus a half cup of egg whites gets you 26 grams. Add in some veg, sprinkle of cheese, etc, and you'll be at 30. Or you can do 2 eggs (14) and two turkey (13) sausage patties plus veg, cheese, etc for the last 3 grams. Or have a skim latte to get more protein.
Another option is a serving of 0% Greek yogurt with a serving of cottage cheese (together, that should get you 30 or more) with some fruit. I find it's really hard to get to 30 without eggs or yogurt/cottage cheese. I've tried doing Kodiak pancakes, but they aren't as filling and I still have to eat them with a side of animal protein (sausage, cottage cheese, yogurt) to get to 30. I do feel more full and less snacky when I have a lot of protein at breakfast, so I really try to get 30 or more grams in the AM. |
| Vegetarian here. Gardein has sausage breakfast patties that are 6g each, they’re small, you could do 2 of those and 2 eggs and that would get u to 26g. Throw some cheese on the eggs might get u to 30g. I usually have one egg and one patty with some fruit and find that filling enough. |
| I was just thinking of doing Scotch eggs for my teen's breakfast. It's a boiled egg wrapped in seasoned ground beef or sausage meat, and baked in the oven. Or alternatively fried in oil, with a covering of breadcrumbs. |
English person here. A Scotch egg has to have the breadcrumbs around it, otherwise it’s not a Scotch Egg. Given the sausage meat and fried breadcrumbs I’m not sure it’s really a healthy breakfast. It’s more of a party food in the UK, |
| Oikos Pro greek yogurt has 25 grams of protein per serving. The regular Oikos triple zero has 19 grams per serving. Have that and some eggs and you should meet the protein goal. |
Non-vegetarian but I have the Morningstar meatless breakfast sausage patties almost every morning. They are 9g protein each Two of those + 2 sunny side up eggs is 30g. I usually add a little salsa or some tzatziki sauce or tomato slices, whatever we happen to have in the kitchen. Relatively low calorie breakfast that keeps me full for most of the day. |
| Put the nut butter on Kodiak or KashiGO protein waffles |
PP you replied to, from Scotland. Pardon me, but plenty of people cook their eggs without breadbrumbs and oil - just baked in the oven, for the health reasons you mention. |
| OP here. Thanks for these ideas! Had an egg, cottage cheese, and a few nuts this morning. Think I made it close to 25. Will pick up some meat/nonmeat proteins to help. |

How many eggs makes 1/2 cup worth of white? Seems like you would be wasting a lot of yolk. Even if you save some..you can only use so many egg yolks for things |
| peanut butter powder |
You can buy cartons of egg whites FYI |
I posted the protein pancake recipe above. I use a carton of egg white to make it. Google tells me it is about 4 eggs to get 1/sc whites |
