Apparently US news is ranking elementary schools now? https://www.usnews.com/education/k12/elementary-schools/district-of-columbia
Surprising number of so-called HRCS are ranked very low. |
OFFS. As if this makes any sense. |
This has all the makings of a 100-page thread
DCUM been sleeping on KIPP |
Congrats Ross and the other top 10s including Maury and Kipp! |
Janney is 3.6 percent African American. Pathetic. |
It's overenrolled with neighborhood white kids. Short of bussing out neighborhood kids elsewhere I'm not sure what you're going to do to solve this. |
First of all, their rankings of other things are very suspect. Methodology here? Cannot imagine they've done a better job than the star system or the tier system does. |
In other words: the neighborhood is very very white. Upper Caucasia, right? |
I'm amazed to see Dorothy Height score so high.
The middle school rankings are weird because they include schools that will very soon have no middle school... |
This. I’ll take the start system over this. The star systems gives credit for minority performance compared to peers. A school like Shepherd or Eaton who have amongst the highest performance for black kids as well as white kids means a lot more to me. |
As stupid at Great Schools. |
+1 what methodology did they use for this ranking? |
This is all done using parcc scores from THREE years ago. |
US News is trash, their college rankings started an arms race and helped to make higher education unaffordable. Now they're getting into the ES game too? Laughable. |
So no one actually clicked on any of the top performers and admitted being pleasantly surprised with some of the results shown? |
