Putin isn’t great but strategists and theorists will be studying and writing about how he masterfully positioned Russia from 2008-2022 in terms of defense modernization and bolstering foreign reserves.
He skillfully navigated hard times to fortify thr Russian state. Now they are ready to assert themselves |
A war between two sovereign nations is not a civil war. Stop with the Russian propaganda. |
Ok Comrade |
BS another failure from the senile mumbling buffon American do not care about Ukraine! https://thehill.com/policy/international/595592-most-americans-oppose-major-role-in-russia-ukraine-conflict |
Russia is in worse shape in almost every way than it was before Putin. He and his oligarch friends have looted the country for nothing. |
He’s not going to look so smart when Russia is bogged down in a long guerrilla war. |
We must send our boys to fight!
Who will bring home the separatists’ helmets? |
The U.S. is very good at doing those. |
And it’s been a drain on the US. But Russia is a poor and backward country so the effect will be much worse. |
Let’s guess how many of those expensive tank missiles will be fired at Russian tanks and how many will be sold out the back door….
I am going to say that not a single one will be used in combat (by ukrainians)…. Hell they are so valuable I bet the generals are keeping them for safe keeping lest some hot headed soldier actually “spend” one. |

I disagree a bit. Both the British Empire and France declared war on Germany once it invaded Poland. Hardly a blind eye. As for the Japanese expansion, we decided in 1938 to cut off raw materials their war machine needed to build empire, in effect economically sanctioning them. This is one of the main causes of the Pearl Harbor attack. As for world order, it exists not prevent war per se but to benefit those who write the order’s rules. We wrote the rules so we did pretty much what we wanted to include invading countries on a whim to being the world’s global reserve currency. The Socialists and Communists backed by the USSR were offering a different set of rules so we opposed them and made them extinct (mostly). Then it was global jihad and non-state actors that were offering an alternative to our rules. We mostly beat them. Now it’s both the Russians and Chinese who are offering a new set of rules that are the threat. The Russians are a military threat and the Chinese are an economic threat. What to call their vision? Don’t know. |
Thank you for writing this - I have nothing to add but that makes a lot of sense! |
