TJ admission should be a pure lottery for all who meet application requirements.
Every school should have its quotas. That’s the only thing hat would make it fair. |
That’s where Brabrand started last year and the School Board shot him down in favor of a system that takes more time to administer and still allows some middle schools to send a higher percentage of kids to TJ than others. |
| Agreed |

promoting untalented with the lottery! what next??
|
That’s what the application criteria is for. If all atJ kids would be talentet, why aren’t they all famous? Almost all of them are invisible. |
Not if you follow the world of 13 year olds outside of Hollywood. Besides, if your kid peaks by 13, you have a lot of problems. Ask Macaulay Culkin. |
| From about 40 notable alumni, almost none notable in tech. |
| OP, by application requirements do you mean the low gpa and taking an honors course? Those do not establish qualifications on any level. |
| Maybe we can try this 10 years down the road if the current way doesn’t work |
| Pretty sure this is a troll post |
How did you get to such conclusion? Because if doesn’t suit you? |
| These people just need to move on. FCPS has made a decision because they saw flaws in the previous system. Why not atleast give the new one a chance? |
Go back to WeChat |
The decision was made with a huge influence from the people already cheating the system. We have lottery magnets all throughout the county. No one is complaining about those not having ‘merit’. Until the entire county has equal access, no justice is done. |
They can go back further than that. |
