Why do we have such low standards for ICE hiring and training?

Not sure what this will accomplish, but Raskin is a lot smarter than I am.

Of course they are, that’s why they were all released.

This is really the most accurate answer.

The fewer options these people had under any other system prior to today, the more likely they are to support the regime that puts them on top of the pile over everyone else who used to be.

My Jesus Gun cousin used to say that in a two-man stand off, his gun will beat any “stupid pu**y s*** peesa paper” from Harvard.

I haven’t checked but honestly I would not be surprised if he were working for ICE.

He didn’t get a HS degree and lost his last good job when he wouldn’t get vaccinated for covid. Bought his own rig to start hauling fuel under his own name, and then I think he couldn’t keep up with the payments and lost it.

He’s a giant tub of lard to boot.

ICE is not a training issue. They are operating the way republicans want them to operate.

Again it is not a training issue but orders from the top.

Some of the loosened standards include:

*minimum age changed from 21 to 18--maximum age cap completely removed (used to be upper 30s).

*some recruits have been rushed through the process without passing the physical fitness test, written test, or a background check

*training time has been slashed from approx. 20 weeks to roughly 6–8 weeks

*worryingly, firearms and tactics training were reportedly cut in half to "cut redundancy"

Ok, but shouldn't Republicans care about this? If they are focused on safety for US citizens, this is basically a recipe for disaster. Again, thinking of the one hospital security officer who made a bad situation more unstable and unsafe - but now we have unleashed people like that across the country.

Certainly does not make me feel more safe, whatsoever.

Why would republicans care about this? They have done nothing to make anyone think they did, do or should.

Because it is easy to be a murderer, and the current admin wants to kill people.

It would be a shame if ICE hired an asset from antifa

Literal nazi's working for ICE

https://www.texasobserver.org/ice-prosecutor-racist-account-back-at-immigration-court/

James Rodden, an ICE prosecutor who the Observer identified last year as the operator of an X account that posted “America is a White nation," “‘Migrants’ are all criminals,” and apparent praise of Adolf Hitler, appeared to be back at work Tuesday.

Bc they need the most imbecilic, ape-like xenophobes possible.

The current administration, just like the one before it, is not thinking hard about the full consequences of their actions and policies, or the overall effectiveness when future corrections must be made.
