Our realtor visited this afternoon to finalize staging and she immediately commented on the Trump sign. (It is quite big on a small lawn).

So that concern prompted me to visit my neighbor. We have always exchanged pleasantries but do not talk much - they are in their 70s and we have little in common. I told her we are moving and putting the house on the market, and that because of the divisive nature of this campaign, we worry that political signs in general might scare some buyers. She said she completely understands, does not even like Trump much, but her husband is a big fan. Fortunately he was not home. So she went outside with me and removed the sign.

Baking brownies for them now. There is some good in the world, even in 2016.

Good for you OP!

Sounds like you did the right thing in a tactful manner. Hope it goes well.

Trump is not Republican. Trump is another Hitler.

Trump isn't the one lumping people into baskets of deplorables.

The one who sounds like Hitler to me is not Trump. I have never seen a Presidential candidate talk about United States citizens the way that Hillary has talked about Trump supporters. This has all really gotten way out of hand.

We should be able to put a respectful political sign in our yard or a bumper sticker on our car without having our neighbors stomp over to our homes and demand their removal.

You're right he's not calling people deplorables

he is 'grabbing women by the pussy'
telling 'the blacks' their lives are all miserable and terrible
telling 'the hispanics' that the only people who have immigrated from mexico are rapists and criminals
telling the muslims they need to identifying ID

I am sure I am missing some......

Anyway I saw a massive Trump flag in my neighborhood while running and I have made note to avoid those people.

This guy again? He cannot hear a thing you are saying. We should chip in for his/her therapy.

You are taking things that he said a bit out of context and twisting them for maximum offense....whatever. Feel free to avoid me.

OP, you have proved yourself crass, arrogant, and bold. No amount of brownies will remove your trashiness, and your justification is purely $$. Send the neighbors whatever net $$increase you think you gain in the sale. Now that's classy. You can keep your 99 cent box of brownies and choke on them.

For all the assumptions made about that neighbor, the Trump supporting neighbor was pretty kind and gracious towards the OP.

Would OP have asked the neighbor to take down the sign if it was a Clinton sign?

I would avoid the neighborhood if I saw a Trump sign.

Just where do you think you can live, then?

I think we know the answer to this.... She began with “I live in a fairly liberal nova town.....”
So, no, she would not have.
We know that as long as others have the same views and political affiliations as OP, there is no problem. Tolerant, huh?

+1000! Democrat here. I am embarrassed for you. And I wish your elderly neighbors had someone with them who could have advocated for them. You intimidated your elderly neighbors and undermined their right to show support for their candidate. You truly belong in the basket of deplorables. But I doubt you are self-aware enough to realize it.

And the vast majority of Trump supporters are peaceful people. I can absolutely have a Trump sign in my yard without being hateful/racist. To me the sign says: Let's make America Strong Again. Anything BUT Hillary.

But I also think that this country needs a business minded President who can straighten out what is making it so difficult for companies (and jobs) to stay in this country.

I don't know Trump personally, he is a loud mouth and he misspeaks A LOT. But I really do not think that he hates minorities and women at all.

4 bankruptcies, a 1 Billion dollar loss and a wake of disgruntled vendors, outsourcing to China.

What was it about Trump that makes him a good model of how to run a business?
