I think he's kind of dumb, but he certainly isn't racist.

There is NO way someone can support Trump and not be a racist.

Pragmatically, you can't ask the person to take it down. But I certainly understand your concern, and I guarantee there will be potential buyers it would deter.

I wish for you a strong and very targeted windstorm that hits only the neighbors' house.

we are all AA, and I'm the one who knows him, so I think I know what I'm talking about. He's a single issue voter and his issue is taxes. He'd probably call himself a libertarian but he votes republican.

The thing is that this is not a normal election. Supporting Trump isn't about the difference between robust support of the military and preferring diplomatic solutions, nor is it about who should be taxed to support our social safety net, and how strong that safety net should be.

If you put a Trump sign out, you are sending a message that's not about politics. It's about whether you see me, my Black kids, my gay cousin, and my Mexican grandmother as real people deserving of basic compassion and respect.

If you deny me, and my family, our fundamental humanity, then OF COURSE I don't want to live next to you.

If i was black, Hispanic or Muslim it would deter me for sure. As a white liberal, I would just think they were idiots and we won't be friends.

Maybe that's why the neighbor did it? I'm just a cynic.

+1 I feel the same way

Which is why there are plenty of voters this election season who don't publicly affiliate themselves with the candidate they will vote for. They vote because they can't stomach the other, not because they agree with their candidate's personality.

Sure (I'm the same - voting for HRC though I voted for Kasich) but I wouldn't put out an HRC sign in front of my house. No way in hell.

This election is about putting OUR country first, regaining our national pride, supporting each other as American citizens (regardless of race/religion/sexual orientation) and bringing businesses and jobs back into this country.

I really dislike this broad brush that some of you are painting any non HRC supporter with.

Not really. I'm one of those and prefer Trump to the Clinton machine.

Ps please note how ironic as a white liberal you feel the need or the right to speak for the rest of us. How fucking patronizing.

The neighbors were selling their house at the time and we heard from another neighbor that apparently, our sign was a point of contention although no one ever confronted us about it. Our neighbor's house sold quickly to a lovely (republican) couple. Just ignore the sign.

Republicans tend to be very open with living around and socializing with people of all kinds of religious and political beliefs.

Liberals do not. They tend to want to shrink their worlds to only people who think and believe just like them.

That is where OP is running into a problem woth the roughly half of liberal potential buyers, where your neighbor did not have the same issue since republicans are okay with diversity of thought in their neighborhoods.

Ha!

My experience with Trump supporters been that they are loud-mouthed sore-head idiots who spend their time denigrating others around them. They are whiny crybabies.

So yes, I retreat from them. I know old-fashioned, fiscal conservative Republicans who are great, though.

Please reread what you just wrote. You appear to be precisely what you dislike.

There are numerous ways, actually. But thanks for playing.

If there are Hillary signs in yards and bumper stickers on cars throughout your (obviously liberal) neighborhood then one little Trump sign won't matter much to HRC supporters and it might be enough to make a Trump supporter feel a bit more comfortable about considering the property.

I think that sign opens up the market up to more potential buyers which is a good thing!

LOLOLOL

So where does Hillary embrace a hateful doctrine that would make anyone other than racist, sexist jerks feel unwelcome.

NFW I would buy a house next to someone who would display a Trump sign, given what we know (no repudiation of KKK endorsement etc)

This. I am a minority and this would really deter me.

Do you really a trump sign to realize the general thoughts of white people when it comes to minorities moving into a neighborhood? Statements like yours would only serve to get more tump signs put up even in places like historic Takoma Park or Captiol Hill.

Different poster, but when the Aryan Nation, David Duke and the KKK endorse Trump, and no one among the candidate or his staff reject the endorsement, then it is pretty telling that supporters are ok with it. I wouldn't want to live next door to someone who was an open racist. Like another said, it is akin to a Confederate flag.
