hmm.. not really. I'm sarcastic to my kids all the time, and they have started to understand it. Case and point from earlier today,
Son (4): Mommy are you gonna vaccum me up?
Me: yep, sure am, the vacuum will pick you up and fold you real small.
Son: youre just kidding!!
Me: yes sweetie, i am.

How is it "unprofessional"? Her profession is not called into question here. It is unhealthy if they have that every single night, but one night won't hurt them. Maybe they will wake up a little hungry, but they'll survive.

I think you are just making excuses for your kid. Maybe if you grew spine and maybe *gasp* raised your voice at her more often, she wouldnt be such a brat.
