Op. I pay for all of her gas, which is about $70 per month, so when I transferred her gas money I just said I was transferring less because of the change/cosmetics on the Target receipt. She didn’t say anything about it. When getting coffee the next time, I commented how I use the Starbucks app. and buy most of my coffees out with rewards points and gift cards and offered to put the app on her phone. Our LCC is perpetually on vacation. So, that’s what I’ve done in the interim.

Your LCC needs to get back from vacation! I'd STRONGLY suggest you send your LCC and the Program Director an email expressing your concerns and ask for a support meeting. Because if you do end up wanting to rematch, trust me that it's a huge pain to deal with jumping through those hoops at that point. Or at least it was for us with CCAP, when our program director insisted we go through a formal support meeting process and waiting period when we had finally had enough of our au pair's constant lying, property damage, and FAILURE TO PICK UP OUR CHILDREN. Ugh. Get your documentation in place in case you need it for the future!

Lol! You had no idea? We have school aged kids and only use morning hours 2 mornings a week and afternoon hours 5 days a week. She averages 25hrs a week. I know their EXACT hours because I treat the stipend as a minimum and make sure to pay federal minimum wage if I go over 27.5 hours. Sometimes she works more, sometimes less.

My kids are older, so our peer group is older and dont know many people who go the maximum 45hr limit.

Regardless, I would rematch if I were the OP. She is untrustworthy and that would not work for me.

Yeah yeah we read your other post in the other thread, since you are so great, why do you only pay minimum wage if they go over 27.5 hours? you should pay minimum way all the time and you will actually have something to brag about. And how did you come up with the 27.5 hours? I am sure it is how many hours you actually need, right? well guess what, some people need the full 45 hours and no need to make them feel bad about it!!

Try some to do some basic math and you will find the answer you are looking for. It is truly no more advanced that 5th grade level math. I'm kind of surprised a (presumably?) educated adult has to ask this.

When I look back at my 3 au pairs (all of whom extended) even when sharing my tiny house with 1 bathroom and 1 kid for 45 hours a week, no car, no giant bonus, I realize I was the luckiest HM ever. I am writing to these great former au pairs again tonight to tell them how much we loved them. We haven't seen them in a year so it's time to schedule another visit to their countries (where we were treated as family when we visited).
