Nope. Just would like to be appreciated. I've gone more than the extra mile for these families and quietly tolerated new share growing pains and first time employer gaffs. If they really appreciated me and how patient and flexible I've been, now was the time to show it. They didn't, and I'd rather move on than feel unappreciated and resentful.

You didn't help your case. You still sound like an entitled brat.

2012 Holiday Bonus: $250
Weekly (net) Pay: $600
Other Holiday Gifts: Framed picture of kids, basket of Bath & Body Works lotion, body wash ect, and candy!
Length of Time with Family: 2 years.

I work for a great family, they probably aren't as high earning as most other families with FT nannies, which made me feel guilty for their generosity.

However, I don't think nannies who feel "hurt" about not getting a gift or bonus are being entitled. I've held several different jobs and always I've received at least a small gift or bonus. Seriously, if your employer doesn't even give you a card they must not care for you.

Dumb too. A bonus is discrentionary not a contractual part of your compensation. The nit wit nanny will need to go looking for another job every year until she finds one that gives her a bonus. I wonder how many years it will take it to figure out that she would make more money focusing on the regular compensation.

The irony of the whole DCUM nanny hyping about bonues and yearly raises is that the nannies would make more by focusing on the initial starting salary. Long term nannies hit a ceiling and most nannies do 1-3 year stints. An employer's budget is likely the same over those 3 years but employers who do a bonus or plan yearly raises start their hiring salaries lower to factor this in. If they didn't need to do this they would have the ability to offer a higher starting salary and the nanny would end up making more money over the 1-3 year employment time. The compensation would also be guaranteed as long as the nanny is employed.

I was not happy so come this year I cut my hours - I gave my notice to quit but MB begged me to stay so now I work 2 days for them. I have a feeling she will not give me any bonus or it will be less than a hundred. If she gives me anything less than a hundred I am quitting. All her friends give their nannies a minimum of 3 weeks bonus, I am not asking even for a week's bonus but I want something decent. And No, I don't feel entitled, I just want to feel appreciated.

You do sound really entitled.

Agreed, you work two days a week!

families who go with sharing a nanny already show you they are a) not rich b) cheepos or c) both

so...you can't expect much from this kind of family but hell...they could have done a tiny bit more for you...so sorry.

Families sharing a nanny does not automatically mean cheap-o, 16:43. What a rude opinion.
