Maybe you should educate yourself
They’re letting me go, without admitting, not wanting to pay a penny There’s a huge stimulus bill coming It will pay companies families money Some will get a lot, others not so much Both of my bosses work still, they’re making money, their companies employees are being paid for by the president None of those workers will lose money for two weeks Unemployment checks are going to be much higher than usual My understanding was that to collect unemployment I have to be terminated How am I going to file for unemployment? Mom wants me there in 6, 8 , 12 weeks when this is over So you’re telling me you’d do her the favor and stay at home, make $0 And just go back to work for them? You got extra money What are you doing? Going back when they call you? Are your employers working? If you want to get taken advantage off, go ahead I’m just verify confused about my situation I have a big history with them I’m not new More than 10/11 years, I think that’s the least they could do That’s all I asked, for two weeks Since they’re telling me they can’t pay me anymore Just because it’s a pandemic doesn’t mean the rich can let nannies go and save themselves Checks for two weeks severance wth

You bed to educate yourself. Families who made more than $95k I’m 2018 will not get a check. Many businesses will go bankrupt because we have no idea how long this pandemic will last. We will likely see a recession. Your employer has every right to not have you work because it’s what is safest for their families. A 9.5 and 15 years are self-sufficient and don’t need a nanny if the parents are home. It’s sucks but you should feel like you’re entitled to money just because you think you know how much they make. Their finances are their business, and I would fire you if I saw you snooping at private documents. |
So you’re saying you will just let them walk all over you?
And nannies should be fired without getting severance pay These guys are still working making money Nannies are not working not making money If you need to let somebody go, pay severance That severance and vacation pay they should have saved up before they hired the nanny Most nannies with unemployment will get much less than they made, so we are supposed to dig into Our savings, while they still make money? And then go back to them like nothing happened If they didn’t work, I would understand But they do, and they’re very well off So yea, no thanks ![]()

You don’t get it - this isn’t a normal let nanny go situation. We are in the middle of a global pandemic, most businesses are shut down, and millions are losing their jobs. We are likely going to hit a recession. Covid 19 is spreading fast and the employers have every right to do the responsible thing and practice social distancing. Their responsibility is their families health. It’s a sucky situation but this is not a normal situation. You have no idea what your employers are going though financially. They don’t need to pay you for 8 weeks of no work. |
And everyone who gets unemployment gets less than what they were paid. |
Why do you keep talking about paying for 8 weeks?
Read my post I asked for some kind of assistance, because they want to keep me, not pay me though They also don’t want to fire me So you think it’s ok to treat me like that, while they’re still working. Are you some selfish MB? Are you a nanny? What’s your situation?

You’re eligible for unemployment if you’re not being paid. Regardless of whether you THINK you’ll have a job when this ends, you don’t right now. |
I'm a nanny. You said you wanted to be paid for 8 weeks and they should because you know they can afford it. |
I think it would be good if they could pay you AT LEAST for two weeks - but they are not legally obligated to do so.
Morally I would think so.....especially if you are full-time. Can you receive the pay using paid time off and/or sick days? Anyway, since they will not be paying you during this time, then I would say they have no right to expect you to return when this crisis is over. You are free to look for another position. If they were paying you, then I could see them having the right to have you remain their employee, but they are not. |
Apply for assistance during coronavirus |
You will have no trouble finding another job. Start looking now. |
I undestand your point of you. Also understand that they are not willing to pay you bcs of the crisis around. I think the hardest and sadness part here is that they don't value like they should do. Woww having worked for them for 11 years??? Look at it like this. This situation has help you to realize that You deserve a better Job, a better Family with a better and sensitive heart that I really appreciate you as a person and as the Nanny for their children that have loved and help raised their childrens so much. It seems they don't see that. This is a clearly sign that It is time to Move on. Your time here has done and now it's time to start over and looking for another family and a better Job. Start looking now, just be patient that it will take time because of the crisis but it is a signal that you are ready for a better Job. Good luck. |
What?!? We’ve been paying our nanny since schools closed and we will continue to pay her while we wait for it to be safe for her to come back and work for us. |
You're an idiot. |
You take them to small claims court as well as filing a complaint with local labor board. Call '"7on your side.". Also file for unemployment because they wiil receive a letter from unemployment I which they will be asked if you have been fired, laid off, or still employed.
