I would not.

Thanks!

You are going to be up against employers who do pay vacations, sick days, and provide lunch and will lose a good nanny to those other employers. I would not do it. Like any other job you want the best candidates to accept your offer.

The question is confusing. You say, "would you pay ..."

Do you mean is that what it costs? Or do you mean if a nanny asked for that much would someone be willing to pay it?

Sorry, since I put “hello parents” in the subject I didn’t put parents again... Would parents pay anywhere between $725-900 per week for a nanny?

Our nanny grossed over $1050 a week but also has full healthcare and vacation and sick days.

This is a pretty standard base amount for 40 hours. As in, this is the amount you pay the nanny.

Paying taxes and such adds another 12% or so to your total.

What are you trying to sell OP?

It is low to average base pay and without any benefits you will not find a good, legal-to-work nanny. So my answer is no - I would never offer that pay alone to a nanny and certainly never not give sick days or vacation.

Does she work OT?

I would never accept or offer a position that didn’t come with benefits. This thread is about a weekly rate for 40 hours per week with no additional expenses. I NEVER said nanny wouldn’t have benefits. I said that the “parents” wouldn’t have any additional expenses.

Most nannies that I know who only work 40 hours a week make around $600-750 per week before taxes and that’s why they shoot for jobs that can offer overtime. If they’re in a share obviously they make more. So this goes back to why I asked if parents would pay a “slightly higher rate” if they had no additional expenses.

Honestly, I have never know a nanny to make that little.

I know plenty of nannies who make $15-18 an hour for 40 hrs per week. Maybe not in DC but definitely MD and VA.

Only as live-in nannies or sub-par live-out nannies.

No. I'm an MB, and the rate your quoting (especially the $900 range) probably exceeds what I would pay if I was legally paying on the books. And yes, I pay healthcare for my nanny.

It's just not worth it to me. And I don't buy my nanny groceries?
