Tall boots are fine as long as you're not wearing them over tight jeans. |
I want to wear them with dresses! I got rid of my skinny jeans. |
They work well with dresses in that type of weather IMO. I run cold though. Also +1 to whoever said they’re never dated. Never in my adult life have tall boots been “out” even if they weren’t as popular in a given year. |
Whoops… never realized they went out of style. |
What are you going to wear these with? I love these. |
Not exactly sure yet but I'll figure it out! ![]() ![]() |
They have definitely been out the last 5 or so years. Tall boots were adopted by the masses and became a fashion trend. Remember skinny jeans and tall boots and vests? Because of this, they became “out.” They are the equivalent of grey interiors in a house. When the middle classes adopt a trend they go all in and then if you’re stylish you drop the style. |

+1 I’ve been wearing tall boots whenever I want since the 90s. And my mother wore them in the 70s. The heels and toes change style but “tall boot” is classic. |
YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The knee high ones you wear with skirts and dresses are back!! I remember living in Europe late 90s/early 2000s and all the women wore them. I felt very cosmopolitan coming back to the states and wearing them. They were just starting to take off here. I loved them because they were warm to wear with dresses and skirts and you didn't have to deal with hose/tights or pale winter legs, veins, etc. I just had a pair delivered from zappos and wore them with a wrap dress for a dinner out Saturday night. These were black suede with a block heel. I NEVER did the boots over jeans/pants thing. That was never a look I liked. |
They came back this Fall. They weren't much of a thing the past 5 years. Now they are in all the stores and are everywhere.
Not to be worn over jeans--to be worn with skirts and dresses. |
Op here- I am over joyed! |
No. |
