Yes I think this is the key. Heeled and with a sleek appearance - good. Flat riding boots with the buckles everywhere worn with jeans - not good, will look like you’re stuck in 2014. |

I can’t imagine tall boots ever looking like that. They may look slightly out of style in a plain Jane way but never utterly ridiculous. |
