What's the nicest compliment you have ever received?

Today: as I held my sleeping 8 week old, a lady told me I looked radiant.

My son (6) surprised me yesterday by saying: "I liked you the first time we met."

The UPS guy said to me this morning "you make me want to be a better man". I had on a really, really nice bathrobe.

I have recently lost 20 pounds, today at work I wore a new outfit and three people did not recognize me when I walked by and said hello. They didn't say hello back, then turned around a couple of seconds later and said oh, hello. It was great!

First best: my dad telling me how proud he was of me. Nothing could beat that. Ever.

Another one: Traveling by air with two tiny ones (no one else with me, but plane packed). Whatever I did, some guy thought to approach me and say "you're an amazing, amazing mom". His wife looked at me like I had three heads. It occurred to me he may never have had the kids he wanted The compliment was wonderful, but I still wondered...

A student brought in her deaf friend to my class two weeks ago. The deaf student was a little hesitant, and I was not sure what I could do for her to make the experience better for her, other than really good cueing and making sure she could see well. But she nailed it. Her ability to follow well the entire hour was compliment enough, but then she said, "I thought because I couldn't hear music that I could never dance. But now I see all I needed was a great teacher that can actually teach."

Nice feedback always feels good, but coming from her, it felt extra good.

"Mommy, you so cute" - said very seriously by my 2 year old.

One of my ex-boyfriends told me that I was one of the kindest people he had ever met. Given that we were already broken up when he said it, and that he is one of the nicest guys I've ever known (but not a pushover), it made an impact on me and I've tried to continue living up to the compliment, ever since.

My daughter's second grade classmate said that she thought only teenagers could wear skinny jeans. Was that a compliment??

The best compliment I have ever heard was only indirectly for me as it came from my DD's preschool teacher about her, but she said, "She plays so nicely that the play around her is always nice." I thought that was an amazing thing to say about someone so small - that her behavior was positively influencing her classmates. I was very proud!

I'm a little bit chubby and am always struggling with self-esteem regarding my looks. Lately I feel like I look old and tired. At work recently we were talking about health and exercise stuff and my co-worker said to me, "you wouldn't know about this yet, but when you get close to 40 you'll see how your body starts falling apart..." I'm 42 and it made me feel like I must look better than I realize.
