"You are just like your mother."
I spent the first 20 years of my life hating when people said that and the second twenty years loving it. My mom is dead now, and it means the world to me when people who knew her say that I am like her. |
"You're a great listener" and "You're a wonderful mother" (the second one came from my father, which was especially sweet.) |
"You have the bluest eyes I have ever seen"
"You are the best mom in the whole wide world" - 6 YO daughter |
you have the best ass! from my ex |
"Even though you're married with kids, you are exactly the same inside and out." |
When DC was sick in the ICU with a bad strep infection, someone told me that I was a good mother.
I needed to hear that then. |
"Well I'll just do what you do (re vaccinations) because of all the parents I know, you are the one who will research the hell out of it".
Not the most responsible statement but... |
Nearly ten years after leaving a job I called my old boss for a reference. He didn't hesitate a second before agreeing. |
"I love you" - from a guy who I consider to be one of the best people I've ever known. (And I'm not married to him...but he was awesome.) |
"I would walk happily down death row if I could have this" (the dinner I'd made) "as my last meal." - from a fellow I have a harmless little married-lady crush on. |
Lots and lots! |
Pretty much every guy who had ever saw my breasts told me they were the best they'd ever seen. It was not my favorite compliment at the time but now, after 2 kids and about 40 months of nursing, I remember it very, very fondly. |
From my cousin: "you're nothing like your mother."
From my boss: "you're the smartest person who's ever worked here." |
A friend told us, "It is wonderful that God entrusted you with another child. It is a good thing when wonderful people bring more wonderful people into the world." |
"You have a gorgeous baby; and I see where he gets it from. "
From a stranger in the mall. She made my day! |
