no, in most of those marriages there are traditional wife and husband roles, very clear and he need not worry about anything on the homefront. everyone (even working wives) needs a wife!

There is a misconception that in traditional homes, women are dominated and treated like slaves. Traditionally, women rule the household. Men rule outside of the household, and generally defer to their wives' decisions on matters that don't extend beyond the house. This legacy is still noticeable even in chores, where men would typically do the yard work and take out the garbage -- things that are outside the house. This is true in other countries, like Russia. They have old-fashioned gender roles, but those old babushka women are not to be trifled with when you are under their roof.

Enjoy calling the repair guy to fix your stuff

See, this is the thing that pisses me off. My DW somehow expects me yo be not onl the breadwinner with a he 80 hour workweek, but the plumber, electrician, refrigerator repairman, lawn service, car mechanic AND to help with cleaning the house too. I tell her she can have a husband or a plumber. If she wants both, she can marry a plumber.

Or learn to do it yourself. There are all sorts of classes to empower women handle tools. Sign up for one one. Home adepot runs workshops all the time. I'm sure if your SAHM you have time to drop the latte with friends and to install that beautiful new light fixture you wanted.

I mean...do what you want, but definitely not my type.

Well, somebody's having sex with these guys. At the end of the day, more women are having sex with the jocks than with the nerds.

Clearly not in this area. Although, judging by other threads, the sex occurs once a month. Fun times! Yeeeehaww!

Turns out this is the perfect type of employee for the Federal Gov. So while he doesn't earn much he does have a decent pension and lots of years in. I earn quite a bit more but my job could be gone tomorrow and I'd have to hit the pavement hard to get something similar going. Also no pension. So I think we have a good household balance going. I will say he did actively turn DOWN a promotion and that was hard on me but its his life. He just does NOT desire to ever be someones boss. Its just not in him. Having 32 year olds tell him what to do will never bother him at 47…ever.

You are a piece of shit.

Why do men get all butt hurt about people stating the facts of their lives? It's not like it's all a secret..

I was never attractive or confident enough for the alpha guys to chase me.

So I settled for a beta.

He is a nice guy. Not the brightest bulb and has limited life experience but he is very nice and makes for an excellent companion.

He earns 90k at 29 and we live a comfortable middle class life in Fairfax.

He is never going to change the world or have much drive at the end of the day to do anything else other play video games.

Guys, just another reason to never get married.

What, some troll post on DCUM? By what is almost certainly a guy? Nah, feel free to still get married.
or not get married. If I knew then I wouldn't be.

Troll post, perhaps, by a guy who is having a hard time meeting women and can't rationalize their dating choices. Jealousy.

Pshh. They're used to being mothered by a female figure, and have learned to compartmentalize their lives accordingly. I think it's a nice balance for some of these high T man children.

Are you still in high school? How are you certain of this statement?

High school and early twenties is when this stuff matters the most. It's when women are at their most attractive and, therefore, have the most options. Looking at what they choose when the most options are available shows their true sexual preferences. And, for the most part, as you head into late twenties and beyond, people are settling down and just having sex with one person. To judge from a lot of these threads, when women settle down with the beta-male-provider, the sex stops or gets reduced to once a week or less duty sex.

Why? So you can have a higher HHI? Not always worth it in my opinion.

No, you don't marry an alpha for the income but for the exciting sex.

Really? What happens if you are married to a guy with a high income and exciting sex. Because in my experience men eho makr more money are better in bed (as long as they are in shape). Its a confidence thing.

Men don't need high income to have high confidence. Some of the highest confidence in the world... is found in guys in PRISON making no money. Bikers, musicians = low income high confidence.

But if you've got a high income alpha, congrats, go you.

Bad news is that marriage makes any man, no matter how alpha, more beta over time.

You are nuts.

I had no idea being a biker was a profession. My DH rides a Harley, but its transportation. Are you talking some sort of taxicab biker?

Your DH is a weekend poseur for whom the real bikers have disdain.

OPM studied this and found that the best Federal workers were ISFJs. These are people who are introverted, kind, and extremely responsible. Some people who were ISFJs include Robert E. Lee, George Marshall, Mike Pence, and Rosa Parks. Not exactly what one would label as "betas".

Yes C's...they are the he creative types.

Talk about creativity. Professional artists and poets hook up with two or three times as many sex partners as other people, new research indicates.
A study of 425 British men and women found the creative types averaged between four and ten partners, while the less creative folks had typically had three.
The more creative the study participants, the more partners they'd had.
Previous studies have hinted at all this, and anyone mingling seriously with artists might have suspected as much. But this is the first study to provide firm evidence, the researchers say.

Studies show the alpha male has less sex and is usually raising kids that are not his. LOL
