Tell me the best way to cook corn on the cob

Anonymous
Easy way to cook without steaming up your kitchen.

Take a sheet of aluminum foil, a single ear of corn and an ice cube. Fold the foil into a tent and roll the seams to seal.

Place corn and ice cube tents where you can between the chicken.

The ice cube will melt and steam your corn, there will be no grill/smoky taste. 10-15 minutes to perfection, plus you are using an existing heat source that would've gone to waste.

You are all welcome.

Enormous pain in the ass. I think I'll just wait until my next trip to Key West where I can buy it

I just did this over the weekend and came out with perfect corn:

Shuck the corn, put it in a pot and cover with cold water, bring to a boil, turn off the heat and cover, leave on the burner (but no heat, remember) for 15 minutes.

I do the same for hardboiled eggs, by the way. Always turn out awesome.

I do this too, but 8 minutes for corn and 10 minutes for hard boiled eggs. At 15 minutes for hard boiled eggs the yolks can get that green edge and the white will start to get rubbery.

Boil then grill and rub lemon and salt on it before eating. Much tastier than butter.

If it is very fresh (just harvested and still in its husk) - peel and grill. Rub lemon juice and salt.

All you need to do is steam it for a few minutes. A lot of the suggestions here are crazy.

This is what I do too.

And don't buy corn from Harris Teeter. Buy it from a good local farm stand, as early in the day as you can.
