If it's true that any other passenger was handed an unopened can, I'd be pissed too. |
The flight attendant made several mistakes.
1. No flight attendant should have made a terrorism-related comment onboard. 2. No flight attendant should discuss reasons for opening a beverage then turn around and give an unopened one to someone else. |
United usually pours soda into a cup-don't even get the whole can. Beer is a separate purchase. Why did she want it unopened for sanitary reasons? |
I've been given unopened cans of soda on all kinds of flights I am white but look Hispanic or Mediterrenian . |
I know people who like to wipe the top of their can before they open it. When you think about it, the top of the can has been sitting out being touched by whoever, so there is a certain logic to not wanting the dirty tab sticking down into their drink. I myself don't do that, but it makes more sense to me than other things people do like putting down paper on the toilet seat or practically bathing in hand sanitizer. |
She wanted to wipe off the top before the attendant pushed the top into the can. |
The airline said it was true and apologized to the woman in writing. |
I'm shocked that people still drink soda. |
I've been served unopened cans of soda more than once. |
I am glad Tahera is speaking up. She is an incredible woman who has dedicated her life to the advancement of peace and social justice. This is her latest statement on Fbook:
|
This. Clearly the woman is lying Also, you cannot return a soda once it is opened. Alcoholic drinks are always served differently |
How does the original quoted post prove your claim the woman is lying!? All it does is convey inconsistencies between what the FA said and what other FA do. |
I have flown well over 100 times on commercial airlines. If I ask for a full can during service it is often opened...but I have been served an unopened can on a number of occasions. |
The woman sounds like a huge spoiled princess. I'll give that US airlines have the worst flight attendants. They are mostly rude, uncooperative and surly. But to turn an unpleasant experience into social media drama over discrimination/ victimization. I mean, c'mon... This was CNN's featured story!
If only this woman + all others who spent so much energy on this minor issue would direct their efforts towards speaking up against ISIS and other barbaric radical muslims...I won't hold my breath though. |
It makes perfect sense to request an unopened drink. You never know what someone could have slipped into your drink. If the airlines are really concerned about people using the cans as weapons, then ALL cans should be opened. And there was no reason the flight attendant could not have opened the can in front of the woman using a napkin or something so the woman knew it had not been tampered with. |
