Airlines always open cans before giving them out, but Muslim "discriminated against."

Good.

Or UAL was avoiding a lawsuit. Can you show me the verified version and by whom?

There is no policy barring flight attendants from providing full, unopened beverage cans to customers upon request, Republic Airways Holdings said, and no policy regarding speculation as to how passengers may use the can.

I see nothing here that states other passengers heard the conversation and that the Muslim passenger was accurate. I see an airline bowing down to public pressure and covering its ass.

So you are saying that the flight attendant never claimed that they are not prohibited from giving out unopened beverages?

So, just to be clear United's story matches Ms. Ahmad's story, but we're supposed to believe someone on an anonymous internet board instead?

I guess they need to add bodycams to the flight attendants now.

Interesting. Has the woman who complained received any kind of “monetary settlement” from this alleged incident?
I hope not.
Seems to me she is the problem, not the flight attendant.

Right, I'm sure "ComeFlywithMe33" is a very reliable witness.

PP...there was a good point in that article...if this was exactly as Ahmad said then why didn't they fire the FA rather than reassign? Seems to me they didn't because there wasn't enough evidence to do so and would be facing a legal battle by the FA. And I don't see where United confirmed Ahmad's story...in their recent statement they even used the following..."or that appears to be discriminatory"

Bottom line...for corporations even when it is BS they have to bow to public perception. And the apology Ahmad said she got...may have just been about the diet coke/coke zero and not being told what she claims to have been told.

Does this sound to you like United concurred with Ms. Ahmad as to the incident?

United Airlines said today in a statement to ABC News: "United is a company that strongly supports diversity and inclusion, and we and our partners do not discriminate against our employees or customers. The flight attendant onboard Shuttle America flight 3504 attempted several times to accommodate Ms. Ahmad's beverage request after a misunderstanding regarding a can of diet soda."

"The inflight crew met with Ms. Ahmad after the flight arrived in Washington to provide assistance and further discuss the matter," United added. "Additionally, we spoke with Ms. Ahmad on Saturday to get a better understanding of what occurred and to apologize for not delivering the service our customers expect when traveling with us."

Ahmad confirmed the airline called and apologized, but she also said the company "trivialized" the incident.

This whole incident sounds like some entitled customer got her panties in a wad because she didn’t get what she wanted.

Ahmad is an activist. I believe nothing of what she said. Activists create these situations to 'start conversations'.

Wake up America

+1, and agree she made a fuss because she didn't get her way.
