I'm an African American. Ask me anything.

Black woman here. Dating can be tough. As a professional black woman, many of the black men I have encountered were primarily interested in white wome, and many of the ones who did date black women acted like they were sampling a buffet - major players. OTOH, it was often hard to date interracially as well, not due to lack of trying on my part. I eventually married a white man (when I was over 40).

Define "so much" and I will try (not) to answer you.

Fine, I'll rephrase.

What is the attraction a lot of AA men have towards white women?

Same reason black women do their best to look like white women - dieting away their curves, straightening their hair, etc. White people are the majority here and society says white women are the ideal (blonde hair, blue eyes). We're all a product of our American culture.

Same reason why white women are dieting down to skeletons even though that looks hideous.

This is my favorite dcum thread ever. OP, thanks for being so patient and reasonable and even funny. I expected a lot of obnoxious crap and there has been some but not as bad as I thought. Makes me feel a little better about some of the recent offensive threads and helps me realize we do have good people in the area.

I beg to differ. I don't know of any black woman who is trying to be white.

-I perm my hair because it's easier to maintain straight and I prefer the look over natural hair. Has nothing to do with looking white...especially since my hair still remains thick and does not resemble "white hair" at all.

-I absolutely love my curves. Would NOT trade them for a pancake ass. Being extremely thin and/or anemic does not appeal to me at all.

-While the blonde hair/ blue eyes may be the ideal among white people, genuine articles of these traits are rare indeed. I am not fooled by every "blonde" I see. And most white women that I see are extremely plain and/or need makeup to avoid looking haggard. White women also age very quickly (35 looking 45). No thanks.

Thanks for the kind words. It's been fun but I had to drag myself out of bed this morning.

Random Black woman here. I agree with you on most of your points. When I hear of sisters bleaching their skin to become lighter it makes me feel like they are trying to be white.

No, just black. Not all black people are African American.

Do you ever feel that white people adjust how they speak when talking to you? Do you hear them trying to talk "black"? How do you feel about it?

I had the same experience. I never consciously stopped dating black men, but I found that most of the ones that were interested in me, weren't interested in being serious (which was fine at the time, as long as they were upfront about it), or not about anything ie: I'm still living with my mom and not because I'm trying to save money while I'm in school or I just got out of jail and I don't care if I go back. I used to live in rough areas: first in Baltimore, then outside of Philly before I moved here so I never met many professional black men. The ones I did were great. I've always been open to dating outside of my race because..... I like men and I don't believe in limiting my options. I eventually married a white southerner who spent his life surrounded by black folks until he moved up here. Make of that what you will.

Also to the big dick pp: the biggest I was ever with was my white bf from college. Sweet guy, looked just like Colin Farrell

Yes, it makes me feel as if you are trying to put me in a box. Please do not say things like "That was tight, off the hook, fly, or off the hizzy" we can have a regular conversation "That was hilarious, funny, crazy, or great". Black people do understand you and most do not have a career in rap to maintain.

No, I don't love Beyonce's newest song because I don't listen to music. I have no clue who half of today's musicians are.
