Amazon fresh is out of every single brand and size of ricotta AND all jarred sauces and the safeway I just went to had 4 ricotta containers left in the entire store.

I'm actually making stuff shells, but basically a lasagna in shell form?

You're also all eating a crapload of strawberries and bananas.

You could not force me at gunpoint to be in a grocery store after weather news breaks.

Same. I also like to eat through the stuff I have like a challenge and clean up the pantry.

If you are a weekend shopper it us hard to miss a weekend. Once I am back at work it's hard to fit in a run for the week. Probably ok but need fruit and veg and eggs

I have at least 5 fresh fruits and veg a day. I keep canned fruit and vegetables in my pantry for times like this they last years.

I have a favorite pasta dish and chili on the menu for Sunday and Monday. I also have a ton of baking projects planned including various breads and sweets.

I was hoping to make a turkey sweet potato stew but HT was out of single onions and sweet potatoes yesterday, which was both surprising and annoying.
Still plan to make soup, chili and bread.

I made short ribs with gravy and mashed potatoes (in anticipation of the storm 🤣).

This morning a huge batch of strawberry pancakes I could reheat this weekend.

Other other recipes I have been meaning to try.

I wanted to buy a pot roast, but I didn't want to pay $12/lb on principle. I CAN, but I don't want to.

Kind of regretting it, though. Might go back and see if they still have any.

Otherwise,

cottage pie
chicken cutlets
meatballs and sausage and peppers

After that, it's eggs, fruit and cereal and don't bother me.

What skillet recipe do you use? Thinking of trying the New York Times one.

That’s the one I’ve tried. Everybody in the family loved it, so I will make it again.

I picked up some short ribs, so some sort of braised short rib dish. Usually do red wine but it's still dry january, so not 100% sure what flavour yet.

I did a giant vat of beef and barley stew because it's cheap, nutritious and filling. I'll probably do a pan of baked ziti w/ meat for the same reasons. If I'm ambitious, I'll make coffee cake or some other breakfasty thing. If the power comes out, I can reheat things on my camp stove and feed my block for a couple of days.

If I get bored, or want to cook as an activity and not a necessity, I'll crack open the Ottolenghi cookbook my kids got me for Christmas and try something new.

I love my fruit and vegetables and eggs as much as the next person. I'd rather go without for a few days than join the zombie apocalypse in the produce aisles, just to fulfill a want.

I'm doing a classic beef bourguignon, a roasted chicken with beans and greens, a breakfast casserole (eggs and sausage), some grilled ham and cheese and a butternut squash soup, and maybe one morning glazed yeast donuts. I started provisioning last weekend (Amazon prime and fresh) and just picked up some fresh bagels and bread this morning, along with some strawberries. Otherwise had fully stocked fresh produce. I learned my lesson in Covid!

We do Senate navy bean soup in the slow cooker with a ham bone, but we leave meat on the bone when we freeze it so it works. If you don't you could always do it with the bone and a ham steak.

I made blueberry muffins this am to start the feast.
