I froze the ham bone from a Christmas ham. I'm pondering what kind of soup to make. Maybe a ham and potato? I like split pea, but the rest of my family doesn't. Suggestions welcome!

La Madeleine tomato soup and grilled cheese.

I’m gathering all the ingredients for Taiwanese beef noodle soup.

Probably chocolate chip cookies. I have some turkey broth frozen from Christmas so I may make some soup - the Tuscan white bean soup from Salt Fat Acid Heat is sooo delish.

Yum! Will that involve making a broth? What kind of meat/bones will you use for the broth?

Beef shank. I got some beautiful ones from Costco that are in the freezer now. I make it in the Instant Pot .

Do you have a scratch recipe for the soup or do you just heat it from a jar? I love that soup so much but there isn't one near me...

That beef noodle soup looks amazing. I was thinking chili and cornbread, but might change my mind after reading that recipe.

Also expect we'll make several batches of cookies, bread, banana muffins, and other goodies. As long as the power stays on. Soups I can at least cook on the gas stove if needed.

Hot cocoa and marshmallows, of course.
