Our puppy is always with us since my wife and I work from home. When we do have to run errands, we take her with us if the place we will go to is pet-friendly.
At first, we didn't go to church together so one of us could stay home with her. We don't keep her in a crate though, she has free roam of the house. Just be prepared for some chewed up furniture! 🤭
Over several months, we slowly started leaving her for longer stretches. Lots of love and patience! By 9 months, she was so chill being home alone. We could feel comfortable going out without worries (alright, but we still watch her on CCTV a few times). 🥰
I would suggest that OP join in the decision on which dog to get, so she can choose one that is gentle with cats. Maybe she will learn to love dogs in time, but if that doesn’t happen, she can always have a cat of her own and that shouldn’t be a problem with the dog. 😊
I also came across some YouTube videos showing these grooming harnesses and hammocks people use for their dogs. It looked like a cool way to make grooming a bit easier 😉
I was nervous about cutting them myself, so I let the groomer do it the first time and observed carefully. The groomer was very skilled and did it quickly. When they needed to be cut again, I followed all the advice that the groomer had given me, and it was a success! 😊
