My mother will be caring full time for our son when I go back to work. I may occasionally want to give her a day off, and there may be days/weeks when she is unavailable. Does anyone know what options exist for sort of "drop in" day care? Does such a thing exist? What do others do when their nannies are on vacation?

Thanks in advance for any tips!

DC preferred but MD is good too. Thank you!
Thanks!

Many thanks!
We have received conflicting information from neighbors and friends about what the Oyster boundary is. Has it changed since the merger with Adams? Are most folks in Mt. Pleasant outside the boundary?

Thanks everyone!
We are planning a non-toxic nursery, or at least as close to it as we can. We have our crib all picked out but are looking at dressers, changing tables and an armoire. Any suggestions on where to buy non-toxic furniture (or non-finished, all natural wood furniture) in the DC area? We are also considering taking an older piece and stripping, sanding and re-painting/finishing with non-toxic products.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!
How early should we sign up for hospital tour and birthing classes @ Sibley? Tks everyone!
Many thanks for any leads
Same goes for natural childbirth. Thanks everyone - its my first and I am just getting started reading about all of this!
Does anyone have any experience with or recommendations for vendors/stores that stock furniture, bedding and toys that are natural and safe?

THANKS!
Thanks everyone!
On an unrelated topic, does anyone have experience with delivering overseas (specifically Dubai or Tel Aviv)? Does expat insurance generally cover this?

THANKS!
Ladies,

I am on the BCBS PPO through my firm (its BCBS Massachusetts), and am unclear on what exactly the policy covers. Went for my first prenatal visit and only had to pay the $10 co-pay. What can I expect insurance to cover in terms of pregnancy and birthing costs? What should I expect to pay out of pocket?

FWIW, I'm with Foxhall OB/GYN and would be delivering at Sibley.

Thanks!
