She lost her 2nd match yesterday in the U.S. open, and she even threw her racket a few times. At the post match interview she broke down in tears and made the announcement. Good for her, she’s really struggling right now. I hope she comes back better and stronger.

| Good. I’m sick of her. She’s so fragile. |
| She’s struggling with her mental health. I hope no one that relies on you for support ever finds themselves in this struggle. |
| I wish her well but I also wish she’d just stop playing until she’s ready to keep it together and compete again at a high level. It’s a rip-off for tennis spectators to pay hundreds of dollars for good seats and then have to watch a talented player worth tens of millions pout, act like a child, and check out of a match. |
That's harsh, but I agree with you. She has potential to be great, but she needs to get her mind right and her emotions under control. |
Athletes are doing a job and they are not actually there for your entertainment |
|
She's said she needs to stop falling into despair every time she's not perfect and count small victories like being able to get out of bed in the morning. It seems like a clear case of bad anxiety and depression. I wish her all the best.
I'm sure many people who have never ever in their lives trained as hard as she has and are commenting from the comfort of their couches will come in to call her weak, just like they did with Simone Biles. |
Right- just like Macenroe, Agassi, Djokovich, Kyrgios....and so forth should have all done the same. Go away mysoginist. |
Actually, entertainment is exactly what sports at this level are. Why do you think stadiums are filled with spectators and broadcasters compete for the television rights? It’s entertainment and a lot of money is made from that entertainment. |
The real victim has arrived y’all! |
You should have stopped after your 1st sentence. And with that, I agree. She keeps trying to come back to the sport and she’s obviously not ready and/or listening to herself. She’s bowing to whatever external pressures she hears and feels. |
| I feel like no one is protecting this girl. |
How, she choose a career that puts her in the limelight. She car retire tomorrow, delete her social media, and disappear into obscurity if she chooses |
|
I do wonder who is advising her and ensuring her mental health care needs are met. She seems all alone. She’s still young and needs family around her. |
