| Leylahs mom is hot.I want a piece of that |

Leylah Fernandez is delightful to watch. She is a great player at only 19 YO and is so humble and excited to play. Osaka used to be a lot like her. Hope Leylah stays grounded. I think she'll go far. And, I don't think much of this NYTimes story. All the players who have made a name for themselves played competitively in their teens. These teens happen to excel. Nothing wrong with that. |
+1. I also wonder if her competing for Japan, rather than the U.S., added to this pressure. Sure she's made more in endorsements than she ever would have, but there's a responsibility and pressure that comes with being your country's top athlete. Not to mention that she's never actually lived in Japan for any length of time or speak the language very well. Whereas had she elected to compete for the U.S. she would have been in a sea other rising American players behind Serena (Kenin, Stephens, Keys, etc.). Granted, Kenin seems to be struggling since her Australian Open title too but she's also had a lot of physical injuries as well. |
| The Japs take credit for her despite being extremely racist towards blacks. The hypocrisy of these people |
| She needs to clear her head space. She has power tennis and hope she will be back. |
| She’s getting rattled by hecklers and asking for the mic to literally cry before leaving stadium? Bizarre. |

It’s tennis. Who the heck heckles at a tennis match? Heckling at any event is gross, but at a tennis match?
I went to the French Open a few years ago to watch Nadal on the main court. The official would go nuts if the crowd said anything, including cheers. He went totally bezerk when the crowd started to do the wave. I cannot imagine anyone heckling. Why? Do these same people go around in other public spaces screaming insults at people?! WTH! |
Indian Wells is the tournament that Venus and Serena Williams boycotted for several years due to racist heckling. The tournament doesn’t have an effective way to address this issue. I commend Osaka for wanting to address the crowd herself — although it’s shameful that it would even reach that point. https://au.sports.yahoo.com/tennis-2022-outrage-disgusting-naomi-osaka-incident-204940248.html |
show me the pic |
| Her departure from her coach after first 2 grand slams was a poor decision. And things never got back on track. |

Not again!

| "You suck" is all that was said. Every athletes hears worse every day. She's pathetic and weak and just salty she's washed up. |
