What makes a good wife?

OP here. No rude comments please. No feminist comments either. I’m newly married and really want to have a successful marriage and be a good wife. What do men want that makes a woman’s good wife?

Guess you're assuming it's not possible to be a good wife and a feminist at the same time?

Yikes with the no feminist comments. I guess she’s already concluded her husband does NOT want a feminist! Hope they don’t have daughters. Or sons.

OP here. No. I mega the feminists who would come on here and say I don’t need to be a good wife or cater to any man. Then talk about I must be religious or my husband must be controlling and want me to be submissive to him.

Feminism is part of what makes a good wife, IMO. Part of feminism is being on guard for internalized patriarchy. That crops up a lot when wives send signals to men that they don’t want their husbands to look weak, and that they believe that how much money a man earns is related to their value as a partner.

So I say become more of a feminist if you want to be a good wife.

OP here. I’m very pro woman but this site tends to assume women who want to be a good wife are religious or having a controlling husband. I want responses that are not anti-men or “ how dare you be submissive to a man”. Blah blah blah stuff.

OP here. No thanks.

Instead of asking about being a good wife, why don’t you focus on being a good spouse. There doesn’t need to be one set of rules or behaviors for one sex versus the other.

I am a good wife because I paid for college. I earn lots of money!

Clean, cook, and be sexually available. That’s it. Women think it’s complicated but it’s really not.

OP here. We value gender roles in my house.

I think this is what you wanted to hear OP.
Also, saying yes to your DH's requests in general (not limited to sex).
