It was her movie too as a coproducer it’s a big financial investment she can’t just walk away from and she’s contractually obligated to do pr.

The alleged haraconvenient assault could be used as an argument to nullify her PR obligation. But she waited until the film stunk at the box office and her mean girl behavior was exposed.. It's all very conenient.

Mean girl? Grow up. Baldoni sounds like a harassing jerk.

She was objectively mean to that reporter in the interview with Parker Posey. Classic mean girl.

Is that the worst of it? Maybe the reporter should have not mentioned her body. But keep trying to deflect. Fact is that's nothing compared to discussing your porn addiction, sucking someone's lip without consent, fat shaming, and leering at someone breast feeding. You know this.

DP. It's not either/or. Lively should not have been harassed and Baldoni should see consequences for his behavior. It's not okay.

But being harassed on set does not make Lively correct in all things. You are still allowed to criticize her when she abuses her own power. Which, given that she actually has a lot of power relative to most other people, happens more than it should.

I know people want to turn this into a story of a villain and an innocent damsel in distress. That's not accurate. This isn't a cartoon. It's real life.

I work in a law firm where we are stiff and uptight. We don’t simulate sex, rape, or birth. Those things do happen on a Hollywood set. Some of the allegations are far more complex than you make it.

+1. I think the production may have been more amateurish than Lively was used to. But the allegations did not knock me over and some of them seem quite petty like who was hired to be the OBGYN, discussing her weight, a kiss she disliked while acting. the worst one was the dude going into her trailer while she was changing.

If they were so minor why did Baldoni and his PR team launch a smear campaign rather than simply honor the reasonable workplace adjustments she requested?

The two situations are not remotely comparable. Weird that it keeps getting brought up.

Curious, were there reports of Baldoni being this way on Jane the Virgin or other sets? Gina Rodriguez said they were very close, has she said anything since these reports came out?

DP. Feel like Colleen Hoover should use the opportunity to make an interesting new novel based on the actual events.

I don’t recall any allegations in the complaint that Baldoni did not honor the workplace adjustments. Which paragraph was that in? In fact, the complaint suggests that the request were honored and the film finished successfully.

As for retaliation, this is what many of us are telling you. We don’t think there was retaliation related the harassment allegations, but Justin trying to get ahead of the bad PR Lively was already putting out.

You skipped over where I asked you about your allegation. So I can assume there are no allegations that Baldoni didn’t follow the workplace adjustments. You made it up when you posted that above? Sounds like you a smear campaign . . .

It is really tricky because if I were Gina Rodriguez or anyone who liked/supported Baldoni, I would be very reluctant to speak up because:

(1) Reynolds is very powerful and crossing him could actually destroy your career. Rodriguez isn't some big movie star. She's had decent TV success but is not a household name and likely somewhat limited in the parts she is offered (due to her gender, age, ethnicity, and body type).

(2) It sounds like Baldoni was unpleasant on the set, even if you don't think his behavior crosses into workplace harassment. There's a way of looking at it like he's just tone deaf and immature. But given his low status and Lively's high status, if the best you could do is say "this doesn't sound like the Justin I know" or "maybe his behavior was misinterpreted" or "he was under a lot of pressure as director and mistakes were made," it's like why say anything at all?

Whereas taking Lively's side is a no brainer even if you didn't witness any harassment. The reported behavior sounds bad and hurtful to Lively, and your reward for backing her up is getting on Reynold's/Lively's good side (where people like Taylor Swift, the late night hosts, and other big names also sit).

Deck is heavily stacked against Baldoni even if the situation is not as black and white as the complaint presents.

Semantics about whether you call this a smear campaign or just getting ahead of the PR campaign. It was misogynistic and damaging to BL’s reputation.

“Per the complaint, Baldoni and the Wayfarer CEO, Jamey Heath, engaged in “inappropriate misconduct” with Lively and other cast members throughout the production of the film. The conditions were allegedly so bad, the complaint states, that on 4 January, Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds met with Baldoni, Heath and other producers to discuss a list of demands “to address the hostile work environment” that nearly derailed the production of the film.

The list included demands that Baldoni and Heath immediately stop engaging in non-consensual inappropriate and personal conversations about sex with Lively and other women on set. It also included requirements for filming sexual and intimate scenes for the film. All parties agreed to implement and follow what was discussed during the meeting.
Blake Lively sees wide support in lawsuit against co-star Justin Baldoni

However, before the film’s release, Baldoni and Heath reportedly hired a crisis public relations expert to go on the offensive against Lively. According to messages included in the complaint, they engaged in a coordinated push to damage Lively’s reputation by elevating negative stories about her on social media. The public relations effort was reportedly successful. “She was branded tone-deaf, difficult to work with, a bully,” the New York Times wrote.”

You do not get to get ahead of the pr in the way he did. Why? Because she complained on set and this or attack could be looked at as retaliation. Whether it is or not is not the point. If it even looks like it you are in trouble. He got pr people but no real lawyer involved. A lawyer should have/would have set this up differently.

OMG the actor “sucked her lip”………while they were filming raunchy sex scenes in a movie where they have lots of lusty sex scenes, get married, and literally make a baby?

And for the last 20 plus years she’s………been an actress who participates in steamy hook-up sessions in…….literally every movie and TV series she’s ever been involved in?
