Well that was misleading. The heading made it sound like waitlisted families were currently doing something to fight back. This article just talks about how a shut out family could file a qui tam case. What a let down.

weak sauce! I guess they couldn't get any actual current cap hill parents to go on the record (despite trolling MOTH for comments) and had to rely on a random lawyer spouting hypotheticals worth just about as much as a 1L's opinions ...

btw good luck on collecting all those surely giant payouts from MD parents! I am sure they will more than cover your legal fees ...

This is some pretty good popcorn-munching for those of us in gentrifying neighborhoods who got into the highly-regarded charters.

Well, it's really much ado about nothing w/r/t the Hill. It's just a matter of making do until you get your seat as-of-right in K at any of the many very solid schools here (Maury, Brent, L-T, Van Ness, JO Wilson ... even Payne is getting increasingly stronger reviews.) We're good! But I'm still jealous of you, don't worry!

I got into an extremely coveted HRCS and live inbounds for one of the coveted Hill schools. I think this affects me as much as anyone else. Just because we got lucky doesn't mean it's ok for others to cheat the system and take spots for those DC residents who need them.
