You really glazing the little attackman from the Heights? He's not even top 5 middie on his club squad. Being the best at a school like the Heights where he's allowed to play hero ball every single possession is comparing apples to oranges when it comes to GP, Bullis, GZ, SJC and Landon.

you are forgetting that on that particular club squad, ability and playing time do not always correlate.

With club ball normally I'd agree with you. In this case, the club director and his team's coach are the varsity coaches at Heights. This particular player plays attack for Heights and there are 5 attacks in front of him on the club. I'm trying not to be a hater but the other Heights '27 attack will be the higher rated player at the end of their high school career.

we will see. I know the 27s at SJC wont be outworked.

thanks Mom, good to know!

It really doesn't matter how many players a HS program has on the various big club teams in the area.

Looking at the current talent and younger pipeline, it's clear that St. Johns will be the top program in the DC region for the formidable future.

Don't see anyone getting in there way this Spring from the DMV.

According to IL recruiting database:
Landon (3 NL, 1 DCE), Prep (2 NL, 1 ML, 1 DCE), and SJC (1 NL, 3 ML) each have 4 players in 27 class. Bullis is next with 3 (1 NL, 2 DCE), and Gonzaga has 2 (ML).

The only 27 from a local club to make the IL ID experience team is from a Va Public.

Inside Lacrosse is way behind on rosters and much of that is self-submitted. The public kid is very good. I hope he has good grades.
SJC '27 has far and away the most club players in the area and their JV was undefeated without a close game and about 4 of them got good reps during blowout varsity wins last year. None will start
Landon only had 1 '27 make varsity and the jv was very competitive and probably 8 starters from area clubs. Sounds good but only 3/4 will have a small impact on varsity this year. None will start
STA actually has 5 very good 27's and the best area club goalie in the class. All 5 could start this year.
Bullis has about the same and falls off very quickly after the top 5. 1 will start
Gonzaga's JV was way down in the WCAC and only a few who made the large varsity squad. Maybe 1 starts
GP had 4(?) 27's make varsity but that was at the expense of a 3 win JV team. Again, very thin and so thin 3 should start.
3 good players for the Heights but that's it.
I think GC's JV was #2 in the WCAC and has 27's who will make an impact on varsity this year.
PVI - zippy.
Episcopal - zippy
SSSAS - zippy
DM - maybe a couple

SJC had an exceptional JV last spring but to your point, they'd bring down for games, 2027 players who had made the varsity squad. Regardless, the Cadets program is elite and they will be very good this year.

Prep's JV was horrendous last Spring, however, their top 2027s practiced and played with the varsity. GP doesn't have kids go back in forth between the squad.

Gonzaga's JV was also horrendous last year too. It borderlined resembled a HS rec team. I'm not sold on Coach King as the long-term solution for the Eagles. The JV program which was always extremely competitive under Casey Oneill's tenure, has fallen off the past few seasons. Under Casey, the JV squad was a key developmental area for freshmen / sophomores, that does not seem to be the case now.

Could not agree more with the Coach King take, this may be extreme to some you but I think it is time for him to go. He does not recruit well, and those he does get he does not develop well, I do not want to wait for the Eagles to be getting killed in every game before he goes. THE TIME IS NOW FOR COACH KING TO GO.

One more reminder--Gonzaga, coached by Jeff King, are the defending WCAC champs, not SJC. Prove it on the field, championships aren't won on DCUM.

If the Cadets had Dunkel last Spring, it would have been an entirely different story. SJC was also pretty young this year. SJC will own the Eagles this Spring. Count on it!

Like what?

Personally I follow VHSL and the top private’s like SJC and Prep, and I did not even realize Flint Hill had a team. What is the program like and what are you hearing about the upcoming year?

Was hoping to see an "if" post from an SJC booster. Thanks for the bonus excuse marker. And chest beat pre-season. 10/10.

This reads like it was written by a St. John’s student.

Like who, the Huskies in recent memory could even compete with decent VHSL teams. Will that actually be any different this year?
