I can’t tell if they are ignorant or blatantly lying.

You are not listening.... Look at the list of important issues to VA voters. EDUCATION..... Terry blew it at the debate and Youngkin campaign ran with it. Terry now playing catch up. Stop making this a Trump or abortion issue.

DP. People are allowed to talk about which ever election issues they want in this thread. I get that you don’t want people to discuss abortion because Youngkin’s views are highly unpopular and would make it difficult for him to get elected if they became well-known, but that doesn’t mean you have any authority whatsoever to stifle discussion of abortion and force people to only discuss issues where you believe Youngkin compares favorably.

Youngkin is an anti-abortion extremist who wants to ban the procedure in Virginia. Deal with it.

DP and I am ready to deal with it. I think we are at the point that we should sacrifice couple grown ass women who put themselves into this situation vs. sacrificing kids to suicides due to the schools shot down.

What about rape victims who will commit suicide when they’re forced to carry their rapist’s baby and then face the prospect of having to co-parent with him if he won’t give up his rights so she can put the baby up for adoption? Where do they rate in your scale of moral relativism?

How often does that happen? Sounds more like the fake date rapes.

This is how you justify denying abortion access to rape and incest victims? Some 12 year old child should have to go through pregnancy and child birth after being raped by her uncle so you can get a lower tax rate?

The lefties (D's) can't seem to draw a line of modesty in the conversation. Indecency is how they wish to lead our country with their socialist policies.

No, indecency is what you want to inflict on rape and incest survivors.

DP - I’m curious - are you planning to lose the General Assembly? Because the only way a Heartbeat bill is passed into law is if it’s written by the legislature.

Republicans are expected to take back the House of Delegates this year. Democrats only a single vote majority in the senate, which is not secure at all (and Sears were to win LG, so would be an extreme anti-abortion tie breaker).

Republicans could absolutely take the General Assembly, and then there’s be virtually no stopping them effectively banning abortion in Virginia.

Wow. GOP is in for a major sweep of all offices. I wonder why that is?

Astroturfing and fearmongering works?

The only fearmongering is being done by the McAuliffe team! They go low....

How incredibly misleading since other occupations in this area pay higher than other occupations in other areas.

If you actually look at the data, in absolute terms and in constant dollars, Virginia isn’t anywhere near the lowest in the nation.

Shame on whoever posted this.

Oh, wow, you clearly do not get it.

Oh, sweetie. I completely get it.

Incomes are pretty high in Virginia. Loudoun, for example, is the highest income county in the county. This study compares teacher pay to incomes overall in the state. But then it ranks them so someone just reading headline is led to believe Virginia pay is second lowest in the nation. Which it isn’t. Not by a long shot.

This is, of course, disingenuous and deliberate. Every bit as disingenuous and deliberate as inventing bullshit about Critical Race Theory being taught in schools or saying McAuliffe and Herring are responsible for a sexual predator attacking students. It’s beyond disgusting. It’s also par for the course for Republicans, who do nothing in good faith.

Shame on you. You’re completely disgusting and garbage.

I am not the PP you are responding to be "sweetie" really??????

Watching tv with my kids this afternoon, I only saw commercials shrieking about how they would be assaulted he minute they set their foot in school coming from the Youngkin campaign.

My middle schooler asked if Youngkin had ever even set foot in a school, because it didn’t seem like it.

The only one that I’ve seen repeatedly today is the anti-Miyares ad from Herring.

You are wrong, but lefties don't have that in empathy to others dictionary, because they think their education fully paid by their parents or trust funds and lived all the privileges of their parents or ancestors hard work have earned them to tell the masses what they say is right. These so called woke crowd now want to deprive liberty and freedom to the next generation by lowering the standards of education, using the word "equity" to divide people by class, race and sowing divisions in the society with scare tactics.
Abortion laws can only be passed by the VA legislator. The governor has no control. He can either veto or sign the bill. That is not going to happen because of the senate and house make-up. So the truth is, GY cannot pass abortion laws in VA and he is a smart guy to understand that. Now, TM can really screw VA with high taxes and telling the voters that Department of education knows better than the parents, high taxes are good because people who don't want to get their themselves to work need help.

Ya’ll can pretend this LP stunt and all the other crap you spewing will swing this election to Trumpkin and Sears. His last minute attempt to tie a tragedy into anything to do with McAulife is disgusting. Dems will win, and they will continue to deliver for Virginians. Bye Felicia.

Then why continue using the fake and incorrect “ya’ll” in your posts. It only enhances your lack of credibility and desperation.

“Y’all” as a written term is often used by arrogant liberals when they see an opportunity to talk down to people they view as ignorant hicks and rednecks. Same mindset as the Democratic/LP folks who thought it would be a good idea to cosplay with tiki torches in front of the Youngkin campaign bus last Friday.

This seems to be working out really well for them.

No it isn't. It's used to show informality, by both people who use it IRL and people who don't. It's not owned by liberals or conservatives.

DP. When spoken, sure. When deliberately written on a DCUM post, the PP is correct. It's so stupidly transparent.

PP should have said youz guys just to confuse the MAGA twits.

Yes, they do. So do Herring and Ayala. What a great election!

Sorry, Ayala was born and raised in Northern Virginia with all the privileges. She is only 1/4 black and 3/4 white.

Ayala is Black, Hispanic and Lebanese.

Aren't the first words out of her mouth in her campaign ad describing herself as an "Afro-Latina"? She seems to be a complete lightweight running entirely on identity politics. What has she ever accomplished?

She's the child of an immigrant (like Miyares and Sears, so I assume you will find it similarly inspiring for Ayala). Her father was killed when she was two years old, and hen she was raised in poverty by a single mother. She got her first job at 15 to help support her family. She finished high school but had to drop out of college after her first year to continue to support her family.

When her son was born, Ayala was a single mother working in a gas station who then worked incredibly hard to get a better job and pull herself out of poverty. As she got better job opportunities, she was able to go back to school for additional certifications to continue to advance. Her son was diagnosed with autism at an early age, and she became an engaged advocate for children with special needs after her son's Prince William County elementary school refused to provide special education services. That advocacy work is what led her to get involved in politics more broadly, because she understood very personally what it's like to be working two jobs to make ends meet for your family while also making sure your children's needs are being met. Oh, and in the middle of it she adopted a second child, a teenager, out of foster care.

Ayala's held a number of leadership positions in the four years she's been serving in the House of Delegates because she established herself early as someone who could work cooperatively with others, including reaching across the aisle to find compromises.

A lot of people have been in tough circumstances, or have worked a lousy job. That doesn’t make them the best candidate for Lt Governor

+100
I can't even believe anyone would object to offering advanced math.

Hats no what’s happening. VDOE has explicitly clarified that nothing in the new math pathways would prevent a school system from offering advanced math. It just restructures the traditional math pathways to focus on more useful/practical areas of math for students who don’t pursue advanced math.

It also blends concepts from algebra & geometry. And offers different advanced math options in addition to what is offered today.

How’s that basket? Crowded? She vastly VASTLY underestimated how full it’d be.
