Intermittent fasting...

I'm down 6 pounds in just a week of doing this. No food (only water) between 8pm and noon. Between noon and 8pm, I eat what a want (within reason, I'm not binging on big Macs) I'm a 49-year-old female who hates having to think too much about what I'm eating, so this is working pretty well so far.

Is anyone else trying IF and having success?

Yep, I'm 15 months and -40 pounds in your future

Add exercise, that really helped me keep it going through the occasional plateau.

Yes, it definitely works for me! I'm down 20# since I started last Fall.

Down almost 20 in a year and that includes not being an exceptionally healthy eater. Could be more if I was more disciplined. IF is just another version of CICO, but it is really easy to understand and I haven’t had any problem sticking with it. Now if I could ditch the mid-day sweets cravings. Stupid sugar.

I use the Zero app. It's great for those who are visual people and like to track things. I do "dirty" IF...in that i have coffee in the morning with a little bit of oat milk. Other than that I usually stop eating around 7pm, work out in the morning, and eat around 10-10:30am. Super easy to do.

I did IF (no eating 6pm to 12 pm) but eventually hit a wall and could only go lower if I ate NO carbs, no sugar, no dairy etc. Once I added those back in, I gained all but 5lbs back.

I lost 35 pounds on IF and have maintained the loss with the 16-8 schedule for two years since. I've put back on about 5 pounds but still happy with the result. Reduced calorie consumption has to be part of the loss and you need to think about eating going forward - especially if you're not a kid anymore. Cut out as much sugar as possible - it'll kill you.

I’ve been doing it since March and am down 20lbs. I eat roughly 11-5pm. So, cup of coffee with milk and two lumps of sugar for breakfast, then a hearty lunch, and a hearty dinner around 5-5:30. It’s been pretty painless, I mostly only needed to cut out my after dinner snacking and big breakfasts. This is how I ate in high school and college when I was tiny, so I feel like I’m just getting back to my normal “intuitive eating” schedule, after having four pregnancies in 6 years.

Wowsa! I hope do. I do exercise daily in some form. Looks like I may need to scale back on sugars if I wants to push through the tough parts.

Eh everyone is different. I haven’t really cut sugar. What I did cut almost entirely was alcohol though
