You are invited to post your periodic (daily, weekly, whatever) miles and time in preparation for the marathon. Age too if you’d like.
I just signed up for it but now I need to train…

Oh wow! That’s so awesome you got in. Yes, please do!

This is OP.
I know this log might look ridiculous but this is my first marathon and I am not advertising it among friends.

This log will help me stay motivated, and may be some others too.

I don’t yet have a running group and don’t think will join one as an extreme introvert.

At this point, I am in BAD shape. No running for many years with occasional exceptions. My longest run 10 years ago was 20k.

Why run it? Because it’s on my bucket list. Plus, this will push me eat better and on time, and may be get back my former self who was not so tired by 8pm.
Thanks for stopping buy and caring to post your workouts.

OP good for you! I did the MCM in 2015 and I am glad I did. My running partner "got bitten by the bug" and has now done 6 or 7 marathons and is running NYC this year. I still work out and run but not like MCM training. We adopted a baby in 2017 so I no longer have the hours to devote to running. I wish you all the best with your training. I'm proud that I did it. I know you will be to.

NYC PP here. 40 minute easy run with six 30 seconds hard bursts sprinkled in. 9:48/mile pace.

42 years old. 3rd full marathon. Just want to make it through training without the injuries that plagued my first 2 marathons.

Good luck to anyone training for a fall race!

Thanks so much for sharing your story and for the good wishes.
NYC must be like a dream too! My spouse has tried to get in without success multiple times. I think he gave up on that one for now.

Free training plan is provided here -- just scroll down to the table once on the page: https://www.runnersworld.com/uk/training/a760108/rws-basic-marathon-schedules-get-you-round/

I am still sore for brutal Sunday run, so Tuesday 'rest' works fine for me. I will start with Wednesday. First week looks so easy! This is so doable. Bring it on.

I want a better time.

Thanks! Nope, probably never Boston, I could never make the qualifying time and my days of getting faster are probably behind me. I’m just happy finishing the races

This morning: 35 minutes easy, then 10 moderate. It’s called the “strong finisher” training run. Not sure on pace or mileage since my GPS died halfway through.

Was actually slightly cooler this morning, so I hope others took advantage too!
