Doing weight watchers + IF. Thyroid issues, late 30's and trying to lose last 10 lbs that won't budge.
Walking hills 3-4 miles a day. Skip Breakfast Lunch was salmon, sautéed spinach, rice Snacks: Iced fat free latte, no sweetener cucumbers with greek yogurt everything but bagel dip bowl of watermelon Dinner: Small half cup serving of Garlic Mashed Potatoes variation of Coq a Vin (chicken roasted in pinot noir, mushrooms, onions, butter) Large salad with greens, balsamic, 1tsp of olive oil, carrots, cherry tomatoes Coconut Fat Free Greek Yogurt Strawberries 4 meringue Trader Joe's cookies (4 ww points) Can I lose weight like this or do I need to really up my fitness or cut all sugar and bad foods like the cookies? |
| You're already not eating much. I'm curious if you're going from a healthy weight to an unhealthy weight. How much do you weigh and how tall are you? |
|
I would agree with the PP that this doesn't seem like much food. How many WW points are you allotted, and do you get close to that number? What are the macros breakdown, carbs/fats/protein?
I've been doing IF for about a year, and I don't skip breakfast using it. I just smush all my calories into 8 hours, and the results have been pretty incredible. |
|
I would cut out the mashed potatoes, rice, cookies, fat free latte, fat free yogurt. They are empty food.
Add in some whole grains in place. No cookies. No snacks. No lattes. Your snacks add up to what you would have eaten at breakfast and then some. Just eat a heathy breakfast. I would do maybe whole grain toast/sprouted grain toast like ezekiel bread with almond butter for breakfast, plus some berries or another whole fruit. Or eggs instead of toast and almond butter. |

Since we don't know how many calories you are eating per day, and what is your BMR, how can we ever tell? Your menu is great, but it means nothing without also your weight and height.
How much chicken? How much butter? All I can tell from your menu is that it does look like you will screw up your metabolism if those are tiny portions and you are eating under 1000 calories per day. |
| Too many empty carbs, not enough fat. |
| You need way more protein |
| It looks good to me. Which WW plan are you following? Purple helps you get more real/unprocessed foods into your diet. That’s important when you have a smaller eating window. What’re the hours you eat? |
Yes this. Less white carbs and fat free dairy. More fruit, vegetables, whole grains, fats and protein |
|
I can't tell if you eat too much or too little! How much rice with that salmon How much salmon? Butter could add up a ton.
You are extremely vague in describing your calories. Right now you are either eating too many calories, almost always the case, or less likely you are eating so little that your body is clinging to fat like a starved camel! |
|
depends on portion sizes, calories, your current weigh and your goal weight. You don't mention any of the above.
the actual foods you eat really don't matter. Sure high protein, more veggie keep you more full and satisfied but in the end all that really matters for fat loss is calories and being in a deficit. |
| I think this is good, as long as portion sizes are small for the more caloric stuff (especially cookies, fruit) |
|
What is your current height/weight? It makes a difference.
This is an unpopular opinion, but I believe that some people have a set weight and going below that will take a tremendous amount of work. My set weight is around 140. So at 150, if I ate like your diet, I would probably lose the 10 pounds. If I tried to go to 130 from 140 and ate like this, I would not lose weight and need to cut a lot more calories. Agree with the suggestions to cut the junk - fat free yogurt and cookies are not doing you any good. I find it much easier to lose weight when I eat full fat products. |
28 points, I usually eat about 45-50 pts naturally I am 133, 5'4 |
