To you, what's the bottom of the "elite" colleges?

Oh yes, Santa Clara U. is so much more elite and valuable than Stanford, and Dominican University of California is so much more prestigious than Princeton. Sure, Northeastern booster, sure.

Duke and Johns Hopkins and Northwestern are meh. The rest of the Ivies are where you go when you end up after being rejected from above.

Wow, is this really how you see the world? How elitist, arrogant and misinformed you are.

Generally I find these responders are people who do not (1) yet have kids applying for college or (2) their kids are in their 30s so very different admissions era as they are wholly unaware of the steep, steep hill kids now climb for college. At DC's school, a handful of amply qualified legacies deferred or rejected this cycle, which is a good development but also show that strong students are inevitably ending up at a range of schools (as they always have and maybe even more now).

Is it only in law that this matters? Honestly, smartest and best work ethic colleagues have rarely been from these elite school.

Anonymous wrote:Probably doesn’t help its score that a big chunk of NWU’s students go into the arts, music, journalism, theater, etc. I have a very, very hard time believing that a NEU degree is more valuable than a NWU degree on the job market.

It says the comparison was based on similar fields from both sides.
So it's not like CS major from NEU and art major from NWU.

arts, music, journalism, theater, communications degrees are not valued much in the socienty, of course it all depends on what you want to do, but in general I would rather definitley go with engineering, science, business, computer science at NEU than arts, music, journalism, theater, communications at NWU.

I honestly believe that Computer Engineering degree from Sata Clara is more valuable than Gender study from Stanford or Princeton.
So it heavily depedns on the majors.

I mean, I would rather go with engineering/business/computer science at Virginia Tech than basket weaving at Princeton. Doesn’t really prove anything.

Except that there's no basket waving at Princeton.
Communication/Journalism is in fact very popular big major at NWU.

Northeastern is not elite. Doesn’t matter how much you post about it on some anonymous forum, absolutely no one else in real life or on the internet believes it. And constantly trying to compare yourself to Northwestern is just embarrassing on your behalf.
